A bit of history....
3 yrs ago, my now 11 yr old cat, Anastasia, was diagnosed with FVAC (Feline Vaccine Accelerated Sarcoma) which is a cancer CAUSED by the rabies vaccine. The vet removed it all and she made a full recovery
We then adopted a 3rd kitten a few months later so that our oldest cat, Noel, (who was 11 back then) wouldn't be left alone if Anastasia didn't make it. We brought Annabelle home from the MSPCA shelter and like all shelter cats, she ended up w/ a URI that she graciously shared with Anastasia... they both did the Clavamox and were ok.
Then 2.5 weeks after adopting Annabelle, Noel was having difficulty breathing. I assumed it was the URI and now she had it. Brought her to the vet-LYMPHOMA!
She was in the advanced stages of it and showed no symptoms til the very end.... she was in such pain we had to put her down at the vet's suggestion
I was a wreck for weeks.... she was my "baby"....
So, fast forward to now. Our girls have been BEGGING us for a 3rd cat forever.... I was fine with it but DH had his reasons for not wanting to do it... he ended up caving 2 weeks ago and we adopted Molly.... a 2.5 month old kitten. As always, she was diagnosed with a URI and ear mites
I had her quarantined from day 1 until she'd started treatment so she didn't infect our other 2 cats.
4 days after treatment began w/ the ear drops and Clavamox, we let her out of the room to roam the rest of the house. My other 2 cats kept their distance.
Sat. morning, Anastasia (11 yr old FVAC survivor) started w/ diarrhea. She hasn't eaten anything since Sat. morning! I brought her to the vet first thing yesterday and they kept her for the day and gave her IV fluids. She doesn't have a fever and her color looked good the vet said. They wanted me to fee her a high calorie prescription cat food w/ a syringe by mouth. Yeah right. That's just getting my arms clawed to shreds when I try to hold her.... then when I did get a bit into her, she threw it up 30 min. later.
I'm bringing her back again. She is still having diarrhea and is so lethargic
They're going to do more tests and give her more fluid....
Oh, and Annabelle (3 yr old cat) is now sneezing
so she's starting on the antibiotic too
Oh gosh I hope nothing SERIOUS is wrong with Anastasia. My husband will understandably silently blame me since I was the one who coaxed him reluctantly into the 3rd cat.... Anastasia is his baby.... she is his shadow and has always been... she greets him at the door every day when he comes home from work.... she NEEDS to be on his lap all the time.
This is just so awful

Not to mention $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
