OMGOSH!

My cat has gone crazy today!!

Dh found him this morning above the top cupboards in the kitchen, we have vaulted ceilings so he was really high up there ( no idea how he got there!). Hes been tearing around here like a bat out of you know where terrorizing the other cat and even the dog!

I have no idea what has gotten into him but yikes!

Do your cats ever do this?

Binny! Your cat has the Heebie-Jeebies!:hyper: Ours gets like this usually in the morning and late at night, and we find her in all sorts of places. Once we found her in our dryer! She'll also zoom around and attack any of our arms, legs, fingers or toes (and dogs' tails!) that happen to be out in the open. Watch out, Binny!:duck:

We always called these rampages cat fits and they seemed to normally take place late at night. Some cats seem to have them a lot while others never do. I'm assuming that nothing major has changed lately?

While your kitty's in the middle of one of these fits be careful while walking past a bed or anything he can get under. Don't be surprised when a paw comes flying out right at your feet. :p

that was my first thought ;) someones been giving him kitty pot. lol

there isnt any in the house oddly enough.
He appears to be sleeping it off now.

Since cats are predators by nature, they usually spend a lot of time sleeping, conserving their energy for the hunt. Even house cats do this. However, once they are up and ready to "hunt", they will usually expend this energy quickly. Since most house cats don't need to hunt food/prey, they need to expend this pent-up energy somehow. Usually they will "hunt" their owners or other pets. Or run about the house in a seemingly crazy manner.

Cats love to climb and can easily jump to high spots. I'd look around the room, though, for jumping points. Cats are very agile and can launch themselves from quite a distance, if they want to get to a higher point.

It could also be a sign of boredom... maybe they are looking to "play" or need some companionship to keep them occupied.

Our cats do this all the time (crazy running, leaping to the highest point in a room, "attacking" us). It's funny that sometimes they act like we are just big cats minus all the fur and other times they act like they are "people." I suppose that's why they are so much fun!

My boy cat, Max, is crazy as well. He does lap around the living room, up the stairs, back down..and around the living room again. The girl cats ignore him completely..almost in saying "oy..it's that dumb boy again".

If I'm playing on the computer and Max feels neglected he'll stretch one paw up and pat my arm a couple of times. It's like a kid reaching up and saying "mommy mommy...come play with me" :D

When ours bolt out of nowhere and dash off someplace we call it a 'Emergency Cat meeting'....;)

My oldest, a male and the heaviest too, is always on top of something. Right now he is on top of the wall unit in my living room. Often it is the China Cabinet and always:mad: on my kitchen counters!

A bit late for Spring fever but just happy with life I guess!!!;)

No :) , neither of my cats ever did that specifically.

But, there used to be a hole in the wall (not a very big hole) right above our bath tub by the faucet. My older cat used to squeeze himself in there and walk around inside the ceiling :p I used to be terrified that he'd crash through the ceiling and hurt himself or land on one of us

As for the acting like um . . . a freak part: ::yes:: both my cats do that all the time. They hide and then jump out to scare each other and me. They bat at my legs as I walk by, and they often try to "attack" my feet as I walk :p Oh, and the running  they're totally insane - they both run so fast they can't stop, both have been know to run into windows and walls ::yes::

:cat: Cats are great fun ;) Aren't they:tongue: :cat:
