It has to be the cat. I havent been around any children, any people in almost two weeks. My only human interaction has been plucking my mail from the box and yelling at the neighbor (im not sure hes human either). It has to be the cat. Now what I do for the pink eye? I cant get to the doc's till monday and its pusing badly

Haha, I'm also recovering from an eye infection, not pink eye but some kind of infection. Like you I'm never around kids or people :rotfl2:

Anyway, I've been taking Brolene eye drops, recommended by the pharmacist. You said you can't get to the doctor til Monday? Today is Monday. Ask your pharmacist for a suggestion.

Just an FYI;

Not all forms of Pink Eye are Contagious.

Contagious forms of pink eye are usually linked to bacterial or viral infections. Non-contagious pink eye can occur when eye irritants such as allergens, dust and smoke are in the environment.

I hope you have a speedy recovery!:thumbsup2

Someone just has to mention pink eye and I get it.
So I am sure you just gave ME pink eye!:rotfl2:

I know there are 2 different kinds and if you have the viral the only way to really get rid of it is with an antibiotic. But the other kind(which is the one I seem to get) I just use an eye cup and rinse out my eyes with cold water. I used to used Boric acid but my eye doctor said to cut it out.
Good luck

could have been bacteria or a virus riding on your mail, too. Many live for quite a while on inanimate objects. ANd LOTS of hands touch mail.

Antibiotics don't get rid of viruses, they get rid of bacteria.

I had an eye infection a couple of weeks ago. It was bacterial; the big difference between viral and bacterial conjuctivitis is that with bacterial generally both eyes are infected and you get yellowish goo that crusts all over your eyelashes. My ophthalmologist got me antibiotic drops. It cleared up in just a few days.

But there are lots of ways you can get conjunctivitis. If you can't get to your regular physician or eye doctor, try an urgent care center.

ah well I knew it was one or the other. Sorry for the mix up. I don't know my virus from bacteria.

I got pink eye from one of our cats too. We had just gotten him and hadn't had a chance to get him to the vet yet to have a check up. He sneezed in my face and the next morning my eye was swollen shut and had goo running out of it. Fun, real fun. Needless to say both of us ended up at the drs that week- I had pink eye and the cat had an upper resp infection that we got taken care of too.

Yep, it happened to DMIL years back. We used to laugh about it coming from the cat and not the kids!

SC Minnie this is OT but everytime I see your signature I think "Who stole a picture of my cat?!!" My cat Buddy looks just like the cat in your signature. Here he is!!! :) The first time I saw your picture it took me a second to realize it wasn't him!

LOL. That's Tinkerbell in my sig. She is a sweetheart. She likes to look over the balcony overlooking our foyer. She will sit there meowing until somebody comes overt and talks to her. Your Buddy and Tink look like they could have been littermates!
