Howdy! We just got back from 9 nights at the boardwalk villas. This was our first time staying there and we really had a great time. Here is my review:

1) Love the location - love how close it is to both Epcot and MGM - both about a 10 to 15 minute walk.

2) Love the one bedroom and the studio. Both were very roomy. Our 1 bedroom was room number 4119 standard view that looked out over the front of the resort. You could see and hear Illuminations every night. Our studio was room 2131 which looked out on some trees and bushes - the river was beyond it but you couldn't see it as the growth was so thick. Both rooms were clean as a new penny.

3) I liked my walk of solitude every morning down to the bakery although 50% of the time they got my coffee order wrong.

4) I was disappointed with my lack of food choices. With a 16 month old we couldn't do sit down dining every night. And there were a few nights we would be getting back from MGM or Epcot late and would want to grab something and head to the room as it was my daughters bedtime. During these times our options were the "cash only" kiosk w/hotdogs, chicken sandwiches, and nachos, the bakery with salad and sandwiches or the Spoodles Pizza window. First of all the "cash only" did us no good as we don't travel with cash. We put everything on the card - and 75% of the time they had started to run out of items by 8pm. Not to mention one 18 year old kid working with a line 20 people deep. The pizza was okay - but you can only dine on pizza for so long. And the same is true for the bakery. We could not get to go service from ESPN, Flying Fish, or the Brewhouse. Also I didn't like that with our mugs we had to wait in a long line to get them refilled. I truly missed the food courts that the moderates and other deluxe resorts have.

5) The hallways were long and we always seemed to be at the end of them - but really they weren't bad. My daughter loved running up and down them and it was a good secure area to let her get some energy out.

6) The pool is great! I especially like the slide which seems almost to intense for a hotel pool. My daughter really liked the kiddie pool and the playground area.

7) Check in went fine both times (we checked out of the one bedroom and into the studio midweek). Our rooms were ready well before 4pm.

All in all I am glad this is my home resort. We are heading back in April and I know in the future I will make sure to stock more food in the room for those late nights that we will be arriving back late.

Glad you love BWV as much as I do.

I think most BW owners would agree that that lack of a food court is the major downfall of the resort. Other that that, it is my favorite location in the world!

We love the Boardwalk but also wish there were more food choices and better options to fill your mug. I wish they would add on an area like the Beach Club has.... than the Boardwalk would be perfect!

We get take out from the Buffeteria at the Dolphin. The walk isnt too bad.

Thanks for the detailed report. We would really like for all resorts to have a food court like DIXIE LANDNINGS... AKA... Port Orleans Riverside...

Glad you loved your trip to the Boardwalk. My wife loves the location and teases me for buying an add-on at the AKV (our daughter loves animals, duh?) when the BWV has never presented any problems for us. Regarding the food issue, we always get groceries for the room so we can make breakfasts and have snacks available. It does require a car to pick up, or advance planning with one of the internet delivery services, as the store downstairs on the boardwalk has a pretty limited and pricey selection.
