I had a great day with my 2 guys. We ate breakfast in and I packed lunches for the day. We stopped at Kohls where I purchased a $30 watch for DS, doll for DG cousin $17, and a toy tool set for her little brother $25 all Christmas presents. Paid a total of $22 thanks to 30% off coupon, sale, and $20 Kohls cash. Drove 1 1/2 hours to another town. Toured museum free thanks to National Museum Day tickets $57.00 value. Ate our picnic lunch there and drove home. Shopped a little more online at Kohls. Picked 2 presents for DH, another girl's gift, and 3 new frying pans for our kitchen. Used 30% again and entered free shipping code. Spent $65 and saved another $90. Pleased with my results for today but tired and still doing laundry.

Great job! We had a very budget day today too. It was Nickelodeon's International Day of Play so we went to the local event at the ball field. Got tons of great freebies but the free all day entertainment was the best part. Grabbed lunch at McD's (I know :sad2:) for all of $20 for the three of us. Then went to Toys R Us grand opening event. Met Geoffery Giraffe, Spiderman, and Strawberry Shortcake. On the way out we were given free hand sanitizer and a free lunch bag. Not too bad.

Tomorrow will be good too. Going on a 1.5 mile nature hike in a free state park. Packing a lunch and water to take with us! The cost will just be gas and it is only across town.

We, too, had a nice, budget-friendly outing. DH was working so I took DD's (ages 10 and 8) to the movies. Flick's Family Film Fest is going on and the movie this week is Despicable Me 2...adults are $4 and kids under 12 are FREE:thumbsup2. We arrived about 5 minutes before the 1:45 show and they said there were only 14 seats left so we probably wouldn't find 3 together:eek:. Fortunately, we only live 5 minutes away so I got tickets for the 2:45 show. We left and went to Walgreen's and bought some "movie theatre candy" which is 3/$3. Here's where I am "naughty"... we brought 2 bottles of water and a bottle of pop in my purse so we'd have something to drink during the show:guilty:. I know, I know..."no outside food or drink" but I'm sorry, I am not paying $4.50 for a 32oz soda:headache:. I checked my Big Screen Movie Club card and found out that I have a free popcorn availablepopcorn::. So, we saw the show, ate candy and popcorn and enjoyed our contraband beverages and paid a total of $7 for the 3 of us:goodvibes.

I did not have as exciting a day as ya'll but I am proud to say that we are all 3 meals at home...on a Saturday!!

Although I spent a lot today, I found some great deals. I received $150 as a birthday present and ended up getting one pair of capris, one pair of jeans, one bra, five tops, a hoodie and a single serve smoothie maker thing and I still have money leftover! Two of my tops were clearanced out at 2.24 each! (Originally over 20 apiece) One was $6, originally 30 and my capri's were $4.50, originally 40. I even got the jeans for 30 instead of 40. I hit some really, really great deals today.

That was a good haul! I haven't shopped in so long (I just hate shopping for clothes anymore, but then when we have something to go to I never have anything nice - I pretty much live in workout clothes).

Where did you go shopping?

We hit Target, Lane Bryant and JC Penney for me. At LB I got a top and capris for under $11. The $2.24 shirts were at JC Penney. I should say I did also have a $10 off coupon for JCP.
