My Budget buster? The Budget Board

I think I end up spending more on stuff that I don't need (but at great savings) than I would if I didn't visit this board, lol!!

In the recent past I've bought - Land's End shoes, Just Dance Wii game, Mickey Xmas ornaments, waaay too many games at TRU, and that's just what I can remember off the top of my head, lol.

Sure these will make great presents, but still...

Am I the only one?

I've bought plenty of things I didn't know I needed....ok, wanted.....till I saw the great deal I could get here. But I have to say my favorite great deal purchase so far is my new nook. k:

LOL it is my budget buster too but not in a terrible way it just really zeros me into the sales LOL I love that people pass on the good deals through here though It makes stuff that I already want that much more affordable

Practice self control and keep the credit card far, far away from the computer! That way you can at least make it harder to take advantage of the online deals that get posted.

After several years reading this board and Slickdeals, I've learned to ask myself "If I didn't know about the deal, would I be looking to purchase this product? Did I have the product on my radar as a want or need before I knew about the deal?" If the answer is No to those questions, then I just move on and try to forget about it.

This sounds like a great idea, except for the fact that I've used my card for online purchases so much over the years I've got it memorized!

I've fallen for a few awesome Slick Deals myself, realizing later that despite the amazing price, I could have lived without what I bought. Not this year - still visitng the site, but much more selective!

It's the same thing with clipping coupons. People think because they are saving money, they need the item. I'm guilty of it myself. I usually just buy a few things, but after I started clipping coupons, I started wanting more things than I normally would buy solely on the fact that I had a coupon in my hand.

Now I only clip coupons I know I'll use, rather than clipping it on products I only want. It's one reason why I love coupons.com. I only print out what I need.
