My sweetie dropped an elephant on her toe (a heavy elephant toy) and really did some damage to her big toe... all black and bloody.... Anyway I call the doc and they said to wait and see what happens..... If it swells up (more) they will have to drain it....
The toe was fine for a day and a half then the darn thing blew up like a ..... plum..... for lack of a better description... of course this was on Saturday when the ped's is closed.... so off to the ER...
That was not a great experince...... anyway they end up cutting it in two places to allow the juice to flow, thus relieving the pressure... DD did NOT enjoy that at all........... and it took everything I had to hold her still....but it did wonders... the toe looks much better, and the pain stopped almost right away
Today was her recheck.... At first she didnt want the doctor to look at her again.... Can you blame her..... lol But she not only allowed them to poke and squeeze the toe, she sat very calmly and watched while they cut off over 1/2 of her toe nail.... barely flinched..... I had a hard time watching, but she did great, and understood that the nail was now all yucky/sick and had to be removed...... "It hurt a little mom, but I okay now"
Did I mention my DD is THREE!!!!!!!! So cool.... so collected...... gosh I sure hope she stays that way!!! LOL
