Ok, here is the situation. We are going on a trip to WDW January 21-28. We will be going with our two sons ages 8 and 6. Our 6 year old is deaf and has mild autism so he is extremely visual and is completely Disney obsessed- esp Mickey Mouse. This will his first trip to WDW (he has been to DL about 5-6 times) and our older son has been to WDW twice. Once when he was 2 and once when he was 4, so t has been awhile (you would be amazed about how much he remembers from 4 years ago!!) . We will do this trip in 2005, then possibly one in the beginning of 2007 and then we would like to go to Bejing for the Olympics in summer of 2008. There is a possibility that the 2007 trip will be scratched, so we might no make it back to WDW until (UGH!) 2010- 5 years!! Needless to say, I want this trip to be extra special, both for my older son and for my little guy who will likely remember every moment and throw an awful tantrum on the final day when we leave for the airport because by then he will be thinking we live there!
Our plan is to stay at OKW in a one bedroom (rented points) that Sunday -Thursday, but adding on 2 nights somewhere else before checking into OKW. This is where I am frying my brain. We would like to say somehwere the kid's will really feel immersed in Disney for our first couple of nights there since OKW is not exactly the most Disney themed place! So I thought of ASMo. I know our little guy would love it, but the rooms are sort of small. Then again it is only for two nights, and the food court would be handy. We could likely get it for about $60 a night also. We will also already be bringing a blow up mattress for our OKW stay (my kids won't share a bed) and we could use it at ASMo if necessary, or book 2 rooms if we could get a guarantee they woud be connecting.
The other option is trying to stay at POFQ. This would be ice, but it is not nearlly as Disney themed as ASMo. Or WL is another option since we could request bunkbeds, but again, not to Disney. The rooms at the latter two choices would be much more comforatble for us parents, and my older son would love the bunk beds at WL, but they can't gurantee those. I want the boys to enjoy these two nights, but I want my DH and I to be comfortable too. But it is only two nights....What to do?? AHH!!!! HELP!! What would you do?? Am I over thinking this? Any suggestions??
