My boyfriend has a stent in his heart for 8+ years he is going to Disneyland with me for the first time ever and i was wondering if there is anything he should avoid and what what has been your guys experience if had something similar? his doc says hes just a regular guy,and hes never had any problems since the stent, but this just worries me, i want his first experience to be great , but dont want anything to happen

edit since i believe some are not understanding, he has consulted with his doctor obviously his doctor says hes just like any normal guy, and if he feel okay then to do it, im asking if there are any other people with similar situations, and what was their experience.

Has he been advised again specific types of high intensity rides? Rides like Indiana Jones warn against riding for those with heart, back and neck problems. I would say the same would go for any "coaster" type ride such as Space Mountain or Incredicoaster. Only his doctor can say for sure, so I would get some specifics.

he has, as i stated his doc said hes just a regular guy when he asked , im asking other peoples experiences. thank you though.

If the doctor says no, and you don't see him stopping normal activities, then he can trust his doctor. Hundreds of thousands of people have stents and golf, play tennis, ride coasters- but only with their Dr's ok.

If his doctor says he's a normal guy, then he's a normal guy.

Other people's experiences might not compare to the type of stent in his heart.

As a "Regular Guy" according to his doc, I recommend he ask his physician Specifically about going on rides at Disneyland.
I do not think it would be too difficult to message the doc to get their opinion.

This way you will know for sure.

Enjoy your time in the parks.

Tbh: It’s between him and his doctor.

If you must know more I’d ask on the disABILITIES boards. Broader readership over there might find you someone with a stent.

When in doubt, if a ride has a sign with warnings for people with heart, back, neck, or high blood pressure conditions that might become aggravated, don't do it. I can only echo what others have said, though, about consulting his doctor with specific examples. However, it sounds as though the doctor is confident OPs boyfriend should be cleared to go on anything.

I agree that he should ask his physician. That said, once a stent is in place, it does not move. After eight years, his artery has grown in and around the mesh of the stent making it even more stuck in place. There is no reason for him not to be a regular guy because of it.
Have a great time!

I've had a stent for over 6 years and have not stopped going to any theme parks...I go to DL about every other month and ride every ride as many times over and over...I go to Knott's Berry Farms and ride all of their high-intensity coasters with no problem...I'm sure if your BF is taking his meds daily and has had his regular check ups and is medically "good to go" then he will be fine...I also go to the gym and exercise regularly becuz I have passed my yearly stress tests. Go and Enjoy your trip!!!!
