We get our schedules for the entire month during the last or next to last week of the previous month. For instance, we got June's schedul yesterday, May 21.
Anyway, we already know next weeks schedule and have known it for awhile now. When I get to work today, there is this big list of names of people who have to come in early on Tuesday, and another for Wednesday, to do markdowns. My name is on the Wednesday list. Instead of coming in at ten, I now have to come in at eight.
My point is this: I am an adult, and I have a life outside of work. If I am needed at work during hours which I was not scheduled, I can usually accomodate them, if asked. I don't mind coming in a few hours early, and most of my coworkers don't either, since we can all use the extra money.
But why couldn't I have been treated as an adult and been asked? Would that be too much?
What do you all think?
