My biggest parenting meltdown.

there is another girl here on the DIS who has a sister named Buffy.

The only other Buffy I ever met was the son of the Lion tamer from Ringling Brothers Circus. This was way back in the late 70's.

People give me the double take sometimes but I can live with it. It makes me memorable! LOL

WOW so far that is only 4 in the world that I know of.

lol I am not passing judgment on you at all, good for you! You did what you had to do.
DD is actually pretty well behaved, but I took her to the Disney store to get a gift card and told her she is NOT getting anything b/c easter is coming and we have to pay for our Disney vacation. Well she saw a little Dug stuffed animal and cried for it. I wasn't getting it for her, it seems petty, but she has the big Dug, we have stuffed animals out the wazoo and she can't get something EVERY TIME we go out. So I told her bye and started walking out of the store. She followed me but throwing a fit the whole time. We got the mall exit and she stood by the door crying to go back to the Disney Store I told her no, easter is coming. She threw herself on the floor, I had to pick her up, she was kicking me, hitting me, screaming, I swore mall security was going to come and accuse me of abducting a child. I carried her all the way through the parking lot, put her in the carseat, she would not sit the seat! So I just slammed the door and sat myself in the front and just sat there until she calmed down and allowed me to put her in and buckle her (about 15 minutes! :scared1:)
Ugh, it was awful, so not like her either.
I told my mom the story and she said "why didn't you just get her the Dug?" :headache: Which made me feel bad, like I should have just gave in and avoided the scene.

I think (not that it really matters) that you did the right thing by not getting her Dug.

I am having a love/hate relationship with this thread!! :lmao: I love the stories! Keep them coming!! :rotfl: But the hate part, is now I am really dreading the teenage years!! :scared1: My DD is 10, will be 11 in about 2 months and she is already acting like a miniature teenager!! I am hating that things might get worse before they get better!! :scared1::scared1::scared1: But OP, this has been a great thread! Thanks for making me feel like some of my days are normal and that my child is really not from outer space!!

What? Really?

I don't understand why your mom would tel you get it for her after the fit she threw???? WOW You did good teacher her that just b/c she throws a fit does NOT mean she will get what she wants! GO MOM. :thumbsup2

I think our parents have just forgotten they ever disciplined! I remember wanting my son to take a pic with Santa. I told her I'm putting him on his lap and you snap the picture. He should be upset for all of 2.5 seconds if your ready! She didn't want to do it because he would cry. I about died because do you know how many pictures we have of my and my siblings screaming on Santa's lap?:laughing:And those are our favorites, too!
