my best disney tip!

We are surprising our kids for the trip we are taking next month! My daughter is 5 (almost 6) and son is 3. We went the beginning of December as our family Christmas present, and we all had a blast. When we left, we told the kids to say goodbye to Disney World, because the soonest they would be able to go back is when they are 9 and 7 years old (we are moving to Japan for 3 years...but we will live near Disney Tokyo!! )

We are taking a 2 week "vacation" in March/April to visit family down south before we move, and 2 days ago I had the wild idea of making a pitstop to Florida on the way, which wouldnt be too far out of the way. We are not going to tell the kids, just let them know when we get ready for the road trip that we are "going to grandma's house" and just let them find out when they see the Disney World sign as we pull into the park! I CAN'T WAIT!!

I'm not sure I could keep the secret b/c I talk about it so much...it's part of the fun for me!!!

Plus the kids earn "Disney money" throughout the year...and on cold days when the kids have grumped themselves silly and are sick to death of playing with each other, we sit down and talk about summer and florida and DISNEYWORLD!!! It's a real mood lifter!!! My little step son is just beside himself with Joy at the idea of Test Track and Splash mountain. He does the most darling little happy dance and his eyes get all huge. It's so funny.

Disney is just a secret too big to keep for me...although I would love to see their faces if we said "Oh, guess what...we're going to disney...TODAY!!!"pixiedust: pixiedust:

My parents surprised me with my first trip to WDW (1977)? My family had a motor home and when I came home from my very last day of kindergarten it was sitting in the driveway -- prepped and ready to go. I was quite confused and my mom said, "Hop in. We're going to Disney World." I was so excited. She had packed all of the stuff and hid it in the motor home while I was at school.

But, I know I'd have a hard time keeping it from my kids. Anticipation is fun, too. :)

I wish I could do this but I just get WAYYYYY too excited! I was going to do that this time but again... I told her! LOL
