Ate at Whispering Canyon tonight. All was great. The Lodge looked good... about the same as previous years decorations. No complaints.
After dinner we ventured to the Villas. It was par... no real change.

Now... wife hit the bathroom and I went into the Carolwood Pacific (Iron Spike) room to have a seat.
When in Lords name did they cheaply-deepy the GREAT leather chairs?? I'm not sure if they're a cheap vinyl with zero cushion, or just el cheapo leather with zero cushion. Either way it's a MAJOR downgrade.
If i were still an owner I would not stand for this atrocity.

Say it isn't so......we loved those chairs...haven't stayed at VWL for our last several trips...but, have reservations for a stay there early March and making reservations on 1/3/17 for another stay in early Dec 2017....taking our three 3 yr old granddaughters (with their parents...of course!!) for their first trip. Since our daughter (March trip) and our son (December trip) both have loved VWL since THEY were kids and haven't stayed there for several years we decided both trips should be at VWL.......I hope they haven't downgraded throughout the resort!!

hopefully the chairs are with the topiarys awaiting their return post construction....At least that's what I'll keep telling myself.

I own and VWL or whatever the name is....300 points, that i have used at the resort exactly 1 time since 2000 LOL....we are one of those families that bought what was available, then fell in love with a different resort (OKW) and haven't looked back since!....I do love the decor of the resort, and we often dine at whispering canyon

MG...I have to admit that during our last visit we didn't even go into the Iron Spike room. Okay, I know it has changed its name but I'm slow to make the transitions. :)

I can't think of why they would replace the leather chairs unless they had been damaged. I'm sorry to hear that they went the cheap route on the replacement. Trying to save us some dues costs I guess. :confused3

Well DH and I spent a wonderful few hours in front of one of the fireplaces in the atrium recently! We walked through the room you mentioned but did not sit there.
