Uh Oh, this is harder than anticipated...I'm going to try not to cry but I feel it coming on. Ashli is getting ready to walk out the door for her first day of college. Eeeek, thank goodness she decided to stay home and commute this year, I'm sure I couldn't handle her leaving all together. It's just that it's really hitting home that she's growing up and moving on.

How funny that I posted something similar almost right when you did. Only my baby is 10 and just down the street right now. Sigh... I wish that they didn't have to grow up so fast.

Go ahead and cry but see if you can do it after she leaves. {{{{Hugs}}}}

I bet their first day of college is about like their first day of kindergarten. More stressful on the parent, than on the child.:) {{hugs}} Ashli will do fine, Keli.:)

Hang in there Mom...(((hugs)))

Keli, I can't even imagine how hard that might be. I am sure that Ashli will do great though :)

From what I can tell, you have reared a very bright young lady who will do well. {{{HUGS}}}...I am glad she is at home, too, with all else that is going on :)

It gets easier, sweetie. You will have her home for a while longer and it will get easier to let go a little bit at a time. Honest :)

{{{HUGS}}} from a mom who has been there and done that, except my son went all the way to Texas for college :)

I hope her day went well and yours too.

I'm sure it was a long, bittersweet one for you.

I remember this being about the time my relationship started to change with my mom. It was more adult and mature.

It's nice that she's commuting!

Lots of {{{HUGS}}} for you.

Be happy that she's commuting! On September fifth, I'm going to Boston, and I grew up on Long Island :( Thats about 5 hours away, and I won't be home again til Columbus Weekend!

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone. I really appreciate it. Ashli is home now. She says she had a great day and was shocked at how many people she saw that she already knew and how many new people she met. I could tell that she was really nervous this morning and I could also tell that she felt much more confident about the whole thing by the time she got home.

I forgot to tell her but another DISer might be there. Uncle Kyle told me last spring that he was coming back to Western this fall for his senior year. Has anyone seen him on the boards in a while?

I'm here! Thanks for the PM Dan.

Keli, what is your daughters major or is she still deciding? I'm in my last year here at Western Kentucky, I was on campus today too. Hope she likes it, if she has any questions just let me know. :)
