My Aunt "coded" yesterday at the hospital...

...I work there and I was up visiting. The Doc was in with her (she hasn't been terribly coherent when she is concsious, which isn't often) so I visited with my other Aunt and my Uncle in the waiting area. I went back to work- got to my desk and heard them call "code intubation 4th floor" I waited a minute then they called "Doctor Stat 4th floor CCU" and I ran back up. I was right it was her. She is on a ventilator now with about 7 IV bags. She would HATE this- but she had no living will. You better believe I am going to have one- I encourage all of you to think about this too.

The kicker is, she has been in the hospital for THREE weeks and they still can't tell us WHAT is wrong with her.

I'm going to jump in here...medicine is not always an exact science. Sometimes, many things need to be ruled out before a diagnosis is made, which can be a time consuming process.
