My Attempt to Disney-fy VMK!

True! And when you ask them if they'd like to trade, or just send a trade request, I think they freak out! They aren't familiar with this and either decline, or pretend to not be there.

Also, this might not be such a great idea for new people. What if they think everyone will just give them free stuff? I hope not.

If the people you gift to are smart, they'll know this was just random and does not happen often.

OK, that was VERY Disney. Found a Guest that was asking another how to get a crown. I sat and talked to her, asked if I could give her a gift and gifted her a crown. We talked for a bit then another guest was on a quest and asked where the entrance to the park was. My new guest friend said she would show her so the became friends and off they went.

When she asked why I gave her the gift I told her that all I asked is that she play it forward someday when she can.

Wow, I Tried To Do This But There Are Some Very Selfish People In VMK
I Was Talking To Them And Said That I Have A Gift For Them As They Have Just Joined VMK. And They Said: "Oh, What Is It Let Me See!" And I Said It's A Pirate Set From The New Game. And They Said: "Wow!" And Then I Put It Up And Wanted To Talk Some More And They Said: "Accpept Now. Please Accept" "Accept Please" "Accept!"

So I Closed Out Of Trade And Went On To Other People.

Sadly you are going to find people like that but I have to believe there are more people who will really appreciate the gift.

I have tried to do this yesterday with what I thought were good gifts. I could not get the players to take the items? (The people I asked were not new "guest" players)


A few months back I tried to give things to "guests" that I thought were new players. I would put up 10 to 12 items of small value (50 - 150 credits). Not one player wanted the items . I guess since I was only gifting things with a small value they all declined. It's a gift, why would anyone decline a gift? I guess they really were not new players, but still a gift is a gift?

Just a thought, if you are looking for something to gift and don't have much to offer, the water coolers from the Inner-Space shop could be great. New players cannot enter this shop until they have earned their spacesuit pin.

I try to do this every day at least once and sometimes several times a day.


It is so fun to see how truly surprised someone is to get a gift sometimes they just do not know what to do.....

I am definitely joining in on this. Making friends is what VMK is all about. The credits don't really matter. I have made so many amazing friends on VMK I could not even list them.

Anyways, I have already done something like this before. I called it the Guest Room Helper Program. I would wander into random guest rooms and find the owner. I would then gift them something that went along good with the room and help them redesign their rooms. I did this in secret because I didn't want certain people asking for me to renovate their rooms with my credits. I did this with mostly guests and they were all grateful. I am going to continue my Guest Room Helper Program in conjunction with the Random Acts of Kindness Team.

I often gift to new players. The best way I found is to talk to them first. Find out what it is they want and try to gift something at least similar. I normally give Sorcerer hats or Mickey ears. You have NO idea how they love to receive them!
If you don't have rare items or even buyable items to share, ask if they would like them first, to avoid any issues about getting "free" stuff.
Most of all, have fun! Meet new people.
