My AP-ALOOZA Continues (WE RENEWED!!) ~ NEW TR link posted!

I have measured aria every way I can imagine and she is just 37" lol! Idk how I thought she was taller! Oh well. I guess I'll be changing out 7dmt plans except for the meet up with TheMaxrebo's family :)

Well, I am sure we will figure out a way to get you on the ride at least once! ;)

definitely think with it coming with express pass for everyone associated with the room that is a totally reasonable rate for the room

Maybe we just live in a pricey area but $15/hour for a babysitter with experience and her own SP seems totally reasonable :rotfl:

The concept of the magic wands seems really cool - though I haven't read any reports to how well everything works ... hope you enjoy it though

We haven't started the kids on Harry Potter yet - Olivia still finds all Disney movies too scary ... you are going to have to get Aria to talk some sense into her and tell her to buck up :thumbsup2

Love reading about your future plans. Looks like it is going to be another awesome trip. I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan but the theming looks amazing and I look forward to checking it out someday. Enjoy your Mommy weekend :)

Plans are sounding good. I hope things go well with the babysitter and you are able to make the most of that time. Pretty cool that she has an AP of her own.

ok just checked and saw that it looks like Dollar rates (where we had the reservation for - but didn't pre-pay or anything) have come way down and, using AAA this time instead of BJ's got a rental for $365 total - plus they had a promotion that will give us $50 back, so really only $315 all in compared to our original $607 ... thanks so much!

The $607 was a bit cheaper than what we paid last time so silly me thought that was a good rate :rotfl:

That is AWESOME!! SO glad you were able to get a much lower rate!! From all that I had seen on the car rental thread, 600 just sounded crazy to me. :goodvibes

Well, I am sure we will figure out a way to get you on the ride at least once! ;)

Yeah! I am excited to ride it once at least ;)

Yeah - the express pass (esp if we stay again sometime next year and get it for three people) is HUGE - it's why I won't stay at Cabana Bay despite the much lower price. $15/hr does seem very reasonable esp since she already has park admission! Aria will have fun with her, I think!

The magic wands basically allow you to do "spells" with the specific wand movements at a bunch of places around each HP area (I want to say something like 25 spots in Diagon Alley and 10 in Hogsmeade). I've heard it can be a little frustrating bc it may not be immediate when you try out the spell, but we'll see!

Well, there were a few parts Aria was scared but she just cuddled up next to me and was fine? IDK. I don't think she's ever been scared of a disney movie lol! Though empathetic in sad parts.

Love reading about your future plans. Looks like it is going to be another awesome trip. I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan but the theming looks amazing and I look forward to checking it out someday. Enjoy your Mommy weekend :)

Thanks!! We are enjoying our time together. I've spent a lot of time packing and still have a ton to do - 10 nights is tough! haha!

Plans are sounding good. I hope things go well with the babysitter and you are able to make the most of that time. Pretty cool that she has an AP of her own.

Thank you! I hope so too. She seems sweet and I'm glad she comes recommended through another family. Worst comes to worst I'll pay her for her time and let her leave early, next worst is I'll just bring them both in the lines with me and they can sit in the rider swap area, though I don't think that will happen.

This time in 2 weeks… Sunday 8/24

This was my original arrival day!! EEK! Today is going to be a busy one. I’ll quickly pack up the room (considering packing a small suitcase just for these two nights, leaving the large one with Disney clothes in the trunk of the car?) and then we will head out to a park. Totally up in the air- both parks open for EE at 8AM so it will depend on what I really want to do. I can see starting at IoA though and getting on Pteranodon Flyers –it doesn’t take the express pass and the lines are very long all the time, so if we haven’t ridden it yet that will be a must-do. Maybe ride the Hogwarts express one more time over to Universal and say goodbye to Diagon Alley. Then we will leave the park by 10:30, check out of the room and head over to BLT.

I’m not sure if they are still doing that automatic check in thing where they text you a room # when it is ready, so if I haven’t heard anything by this point we will check in at the front desk. We’ll leave the luggage with bell services (if room isn’t ready), park the car, and then head to the…boat dock! We are heading to Fort Wilderness! We have lunch at Fort Wilderness – Trail’s End! One I’ve never been to before, so excited about that! It's a buffet at breakfast and dinner, but a la cart at lunch - perfect!

IMG_1759.JPG

If I’m feeling adventurous (don’t like bacon) I may try
Smoked Cheese-stuffed Jalapeño - wrapped in Country Bacon with Peach-Pepper Jelly - $7.99

Or maybe I’ll just do this, because it sounds like a lot of food!
Fried Chicken and Waffles - Served with warm maple syrup and butter - $14.49

After lunch we will head over to the pony rides and let Aria ride! It’s $5 but she will really love it. Have I mentioned she started horseback riding lessons? She has had 2 so far and she is enjoying them.

934783_10100174192958061_2862622910292839100_n.jpg

Then we will take the boat back to BLT. Once off the boat I'll recline the stroller and Aria will nap while I hopefully (assuming the room is ready) have a chance to unpack a bit. Then I'll make my way over to MK, hoping Aria is still sleeping in the stroller. Our first stop will be the Speedway!

Tomorrowland-Speedway-01.jpg

Then the TTA with its new colorway. Not the prettiest but whatever, it won't detract from our enjoyment!

Peoplemover-13.jpg

Then hop on Buzz with a FP - Aria has always been iffy on this ride (dark, maybe?) but she has recently gotten into Toy Story and loves Buzz, so I am thinking she will enjoy it now.

Buzz-Lightyear-13.jpg

Then we will head back up to the front for the tail end of a FP to meet Mickey! In June, I got all excited when I thought he had a "0" minute wait time only to see it actually said 100! I've never seen that long of a wait for him, so decided a FP was the way to go.

After that we have dinner planned at Tony's. I know it doesn't get great reviews, but I haven't been since the year 2000 with my mom, so I think a visit is due.

tonys-town-square-restaurant-00.jpg

This sounds like a fun starter

Zucchini FriesBreaded seasoned Zucchini with creamy Sun-dried Tomato Dressing for dipping
$7.99

and maybe this - and I'll just share both with Aria vs ordering her a kids meal.

Chicken Parmigiana Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast with Marinara Sauce topped with Melted Mozzarella over Spaghetti
$20.99

or their seasonal ravioli.

I think there is some way to get Lady & The Tramp paw-prints, but I am unsure how so I need to look into that. BTW - I plan to try to put together an autograph book for Aria this time! (I failed miserably at it in June!).

After a hopefully decent dinner, we head to the back of the park for a FP at the Barnstormer! THen on to Pooh! Then we had the 7DMT FP but I just changed it to Dumbo - per Aria's request! I offered up Peter Pan, Ariel, and Dumbo and she considered for quite a bit of time before deciding on Dumbo. SHe was very excited to see this evening's events - she seems most excited about Pooh.

Tonight I need to check on the Top of the World Lounge - to see if my MB will allow us up. If they let me I will also double check about bringing friends up. I can imagine we will be tuckered out though and I don't imagine being able to stay up for the 10PM Wishes!

wow - that does sound like a full day! Hope everything goes smoothly

I never really hear about lunch at Trails End - just the buffets - but the Smoked Cheese-stuffed Jalapeño - wrapped in Country Bacon with Peach-Pepper Jelly sounds really tasty!

Ha, funny to think this was your original first day, but you'll have done so much by that time!

Hope Trail's End is good for lunch. Way back when we had dinner there (buffet). It was decent, but I'd heard so many good things about it that I was expecting something more impressive, I guess. Good comfort food, though.

Pony ride sounds fun! I think we might be able to have Izzy do that in Hawaii at the Kualoa Ranch, but I'm not super-clear on the details, so we'll see.

Hope you get a lot of unpacking done during nap time - good plan. MK line-up sounds good. Ha, I almost forgot about that zero vs. 100 minute wait for Mickey.

I'll be interested to see how you like Tony's. I've always been intrigued by it because I love Lady and the Tramp and Italian food - but it gets such poor reviews that I've never done it. Never heard about the paw print thing.

Sounds like a fun ride line-up afterwards. Hope you can get into the lounge!

Yeah I can't resist anything with jalapenos (seriously, I WISH I ate ground beef bc of the number of times I've seen amazing spicy hamburgers on menus lately!). Mmmm. Aria enjoys it too, and likes bacon, so I think it'll be a win win.

it'll be a full day for sure, hopefully it doesn't feel TOO rushed though and we enjoy it!

I honestly haven't heard much of anything about Trail's End! I've only eaten at the Fort Wilderness once, at HDD (awesome) so it will be fun to go back. If nothing else, they have a great playground!

That'd be so cute if you could get Izzy on a pony ride. Not that I am trying to rush Aria growing up, but horseback trail rides are something I LOVE doing on vacation, and they usually have a 8-10 year minimum, so I do look forward to her being able to do those! haha.

At some point between the start of the trip and now, I need to also go and get milk & waters and other snacks - ha! So maybe will be stopping between RPR and BLT. We'll see...

Thanks for the reminder to look into the paw print thing, going to do that now! Hoping my meal is good too ;)

This time in 2 weeks… 8/25

This morning we have an early breakfast at Crystal Palace! YAY! I’ll try to get in 15 minutes beforehand to take photos around the park, and get a photopass photographer to get our pic walking to the castle. Hoping I find another nice one that will leave their spot to do it!

Can’t WAIT for the breakfast lasagna. I looked up the recipe for it, and it requires pancakes, waffles, AND pound cake, plus cream, custard, and fruits. It’s ridiculous. WAY less time to just fly to WDW and eat at CP. Haha. I think I’ll get a whole plateful this time! Mmmm.

magickingdom1-125-1024x768.jpg

Once we are done with breakfast, we’ll head out to ride the FL rides like IaSW – if we make it out before 9, then we’ll be ready for rope drop and can head to Peter Pan, if not then we can do Pooh, Dumbo, etc. Then I want to head to Pirates to ride without much of a wait, and possibly Magic Carpets as well.

Peter-Pans-Flight-00.jpg

Pirates_of_Caribbean_Ride_01.jpg

We have a FP for the Jungle Cruise, then a FP to meet Cinderella & Rapunzel, then Enchanted Tales with Belle.

Jungle_Cruise_03.JPG

Enchanted-Tales-With-Belle-01.jpg

At this point it will be lunch time and we may do Pinocchio or Sleepy Hollow, need to look at the menus as I haven’t been to Pinocchio’s before but I do know I love the Sleepy Hollow chicken waffles. Or Gaston's actually, since we will be right there after meeting Belle.

At Gaston's they mainly have snacks, but I didn't schedule a lunch since we will have had a big breakfast, and have a good dinner planned. They have hummus & chips, a fruit cup, veggies & dip - so that could be good - aria loves all those things. I'm looking at the Pinocchio's menu now though and the BBQ chicken flatbread sounds goooood. Aria could even get a pepperoni pizza with grapes and yogurt for 5.99...hmmm! Guess we will see how we are feeling!

If we have spare time after lunch, I’d like to head to Tom Sawyer Island – but I need Aria to go down for her nap as early as possible…because I have to wake her up! For the parade! I finally carved time out mid day to see it, but of course the parade is at 3 and typically she’d still be asleep (granted, close to waking up at least). Hoping that A&E are facing us when they go by!

How pretty is this?
WDWINFO-Festival-Of-Fantasy-067.jpg

Love this!
WDWINFO-Festival-Of-Fantasy-039.jpg

After the parade, we will go ride Ariel, and then meet her!

03-Journey-Little-Mermaid.jpg

Then we’ll head back to the room to freshen up (showers, probably!) and change for dinner at California Grill! It’s an early one so no fireworks viewing, but it will still be nice to sit and have a (hopefully) relaxing dinner.

California-Grill-005.jpg

At California Grill, I always seem to get the goat cheese ravioli, and them am disappointed by it :rotfl: so I need to stay away! Instead, I think I'll try out

Delta Asparagus Soup - Roasted wild mushrooms, smoked olive oil and lemon clouds $12

Or this

Oven-dried Tomato Flatbread - Beefsteak Tomatoes, Mozzarella di Bufala, Aged Balsamic $14

(Aria would enjoy both of these too)

And for my main, I'll need to see if this is chicken breast - if so I'll get it.

Bell & Evans Chicken - Zuckerman Farms asparagus gratin, Benziger olive oil potatoes, cabernet-chicken demi $37

And I may need to give these another try ::yes::

Warm Homemade Fritters - Banana-stuffed, Cinnamon-dusted Fritters with Toasted Caramel Marshmallows complemented with a Trio of Dipping Sauces $12

Aria may just eat what I order, or I'll get her her own meal - that'll depend on how she is doing. Hate to waste a ton of $$ if she won't eat it.

After dinner we’ll head to the pool for a bit, then bedtime.

Pool is zero-entry

Bay%20Lake%20Tower%2012a.jpg

There is a cute little splash area

Bay%20Lake%20Tower%20109.jpg

BTW, did I post pics of the studio at BLT? I don't remember. Here are some more if I already did hehe - they have a separate "kitchenette" seen off to the right here. I think we fit the PnP in this area last time so it wasn't very usable (We also used one of the counters as a changing table area LOL - towels down of course...). I still think the room would be a lot bigger if they didn't have this separate area and it was along a wall like the other studios. I'm interested to see how I like it though, now that there won't be a PnP and like 15 suitcases all around.

Anyway more pics

bltst2010a14.jpg

I forgot to mention this when talking about Universal's RPR. They don't have refrigerators in the room! You have to rent them, I think $20/day. At that price, it will be cheaper to just buy her milk for that portion of the stay! UGH! (I don't mind room temperature water though). So nice that Disney doesn't charge this (they maybe do for Value rooms? Though I think they stopped charging, IDK).

bltst2010q.jpg

bltst2010n.jpg

Wow! That is crazy to charge for a fridge. I'm with you, I would just buy milk at crazy theme park price than $20 for the dang fridge! Also, I meant to ask you, do you watch the DIS podcast? Craig and Shaun do a Universal show that might be helpful for your planning. I am faithful to the WDW show, well more than faithful, I listen to it in my car while driving multiple times a week! lol! But I only listen to the Universal Show every now and then, just because I'm not that "in" to Universal right now. Anyway, hope that helps and I LOVE your "in 2 weeks" updates! :goodvibes

No I don't listen to any podcasts but thanks i'll look into it. The Universal boards here on the DIS are pretty light and not that helpful - there are like two regular commenters there to answer questions. I think that is just how Universal is though - supposed to be much easier to go without any sort of plan, which is why I have never loved it LOL! I love plans. :goodvibes

Thank you!!

I have this intense "I KNOW I'M FORGETTING SOMETHING" feeling about packing for WDW this time. Over the weekend I packed 90% - clothing, shoes, etc for each day of the trip (minus the 10 upcycles that I'm still waiting for...eeeek) and also organized the stroller, bag, car seat, stroller tray, rain cover, poncho, etc. Then started making a list of other things I need to pack, and last night spent a good hour looking for my autograph stuff that I brought to Disney in June but never used...:rotfl: ...finally found that. While looking though, I thought of something I wanted to pack and then instantly forgot it! Now it is really irking me. I am bringing the car seat on the plane both ways this time, and bringing 1 large and 1 small suitcase - the small one will have everything for Universal so I can leave the large one in the trunk of the car.

Anyway...it's so exciting I'm almost at 1 WEEK away! But for now...

This time in 2 weeks!! Tuesday 8/26!

This is a morning EMH day at EPCOT! I'll grab a quick breakfast at the Contempo maybe, then we'll drive over, because the monorail doesn't run that early anymore (ugh) and we'll do Nemo, Turtle Talk, etc. LwtL...that sort of fun stuff. EPCOT is nice with a toddler because there isn't really that much to do so I feel like I'm not missing anything, if that makes sense? We'll check out Innovations as well. FP's aren't even that needed IMO, but I do have them for LwtL and Nemo right before lunch...

IMG_7580.JPG

turtle-talk-250.jpg

Then we have lunch planned for the Coral Reef! I LOVE it in here. I'm hoping to get closer to the fish tank, I never seem to get lucky with that request though.

coral_reef_500.jpg

I'm not sure yet what to get for lunch. Nothing is jumping out at me, but they do have fish tacos on the appetizer menu so I might just get those.

After lunch, we have a FP for the Character Spot, then we will head to Mexico and ride "Donald's Boat" as Aria calls it, then I'll grab a Margarita from La Cava...my favorite passion fruit!...and then she will nap in the stroller!

Description of the passion fruit: El Mayor premium white tequila and canton ginger liquer mixed with passion fruit, mango nectar, and fresh lime juice, topped with passion fruit foam, served on the rocks with hibiscus himalayan salt rim.

Wild-Passion-Fruit-Margarita.jpg

I'll probably meander my way over to Spice Road table and hopefully be able to grab a table with Aria asleep, and use my AP 30% off discount on an appetizer or something.

WDWInfo-Spice-Road-Table-004.jpg

I might try out:

Harissa Chicken Roll - with Harissa Ketchup - $8.00

Mediterranean Omelet - with Potato, Red Peppers and Caramelized Onions - $7.00

Or (since there really aren't many non-meat/shellfish options I may get ambitious and try this.

Salted Cod Croquettes - Sun-dried Tomato Aïoli and Black Olive Tapenade - $10.00

When she wakes up we have a Maelstrom FP (SAD this will be the last time to ride it)

600-norway-Maelstrom.jpg

and then we will make our way over to Beaches & Cream. Maybe stopping at a Princess meet of some sort on our way!

I'm one of the few, I think, that is happy about the B&C ADR! It's been a long time since I ate there bc I always hear that there were lines out the door to eat there. So I like being able to schedule it!

DSC00511.JPG

For dinner, I'll either get the chicken burger or veggie burger, and I'll get Aria the kid's hot dog meal. This kid LOVES hot dogs (what kid doesn't I guess!). I used to until I found out what was in them, at age 10, and became a total vegetarian for 6 years much to my mother's dismay. :rotfl:

Of course, the real point of going here is to get ice cream! So we'll be sharing the

Classic Banana Split - A ripe banana, three scoops of ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry), pineapple, strawberry, and marshmallow topping, finished off with hot fudge, caramel, toasted almonds, whipped cream and a cherry. - $8.49

We got this back in December and split it three ways - what a fun way to end the evening!

After dinner we will head back through EPCOT, stopping at Spaceship Earth to ride and then head back to the resort. Depending on timing, we may get in some pool time, or may just relax and change in the room...for we have a DIS meet tonight! Depending on my Top of the World Lounge success, we are meeting TheMaxRebo's family around 8PM to go up there and watch Wishes!

If TotWL doesn't happen, then we will figure something else out...

It'll be fun though for Aria, as he has three children, so perfect for her to have some playmates for a while, while I get a little adult interaction.

Hoping Aria can handle the late evening, as Wishes isn't until 10, but I'll bring her stroller up and she can fall asleep in that if need be.

Ah, love the breakfast lasagna - though not sure I could eat a whole plate of it ... plus have to leave room for more healthy options - like puffed French Toast :rotfl:

Sounds like you will definitely knock a lot of Fantasy Land out that day

I must say that the Parade is the biggest puzzle for me for a planning standpoint. We definitely want to see it but it will be pretty much in the middle of nap time and 3pm in August in Florida - just afraid it will be too hot. We shall see.

BTW - I am sure you know this but as long as you have an ADR for that day at California Grill you can go back to watch the fireworks. I mean, you/Aria might be too tired anyway, but that is an option

Oh, and in case you are interested, below are links to our dining review from California Grill from my last Trip Report - we had a number of the things you are thinking of getting:

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=50247090&postcount=190

My mother in law had the Bell & Evans Chicken and wasn't really wowed with it - just found it to be bland.

We also got the Oven-dried Tomato Flatbread and thought it was good, but found the Pork Pate Flatbread to be much better

ah - we are getting so close! :woohoo:

Thank you for the links! I don't eat port, or any red meat, so my options are always limited. The chicken is disappointing to hear, but luckily they are different now from when she ordered it (so maybe more tasty now?)

Bell & Evans Chicken - Zuckerman Farms asparagus gratin, Benziger olive oil potatoes, cabernet-chicken demi $37

We'll see. Funny, I had the raviolis one time (that you said were amazing) and mine were all undercooked and it was one of the worst meals I've had. I'm sure the undercooking didn't help LOL.

Maybe there will be some amazing sounding special on the menu! :goodvibes

Yeah we could go back up! But it is so much nicer watching from our dinner table, that's for sure! I think we will be fast asleep though. In October we do plan to have a later dinner to watch Wishes there, with the in laws. :cutie:

And yes - I am rarely in the park at 3PM, or if I am, Aria is fast asleep in her stroller. But...I really want to see this darn parade! Maybe they'll move it to 4 for me?? :hyper: I guess, if she is still sleeping then I will just sit and watch it by myself! haha.

I know.... this time next week I'll be doing even less work than I'm doing today! :rotfl2:

oh - Judi doesn't eat pork or beef (she will eat leaner red meats like lamb or venison though) - so you two should get along!

That pasta that one member of our party got was a special and was the best entree ordered so hopefully they will have some good specials for you!

your day at EPCOT sounds fun - definitely want to check out Spice Road when we go.

Oh, since you like spicy food have you tried the jalapeño margarita from The Ditch? I like it a lot - and you can vary how spicy you want it. They also added a horchata one there ... not spice but really yummy :goodvibes

I am insanely jealous of all your plans!! Two people I follow on instagram were at WDW this weekend, and I was loving all their pictures and updates! I'll be living vicariously through all of you for now! :worried::goodvibes

That is funny! I have tried the jalapeno! It's good!! Though I like my drinks a little fruitier :goodvibes Horchata sounds pretty cool too, I haven't tried that one.

Spice Road is on my short list of TS places I haven't been to, so it is a definite must do even if I couldn't quite fit in a full meal there haha

Awww looks like you need a trip to plan hahaha! I'm glad you're here to follow along on my plans though.

Following along!! Excited to see if you are able to get to go to ToTWL.:yay:

Hi neighbor!! :goodvibes I'm excited to see too! haha!
