my alli anyone?

Yikes! I think I'll stick with my NV that I've been using. No side effects from it-I'm too worried about the orange stuff. Although I'm a teacher and summer would be a good time to try it. I only want to lose about 5-7 lbs. But I run and I'm worried I would have an accident when I run.

What is NV?

OK, I'm confused, is it treatment effects, or just working. I warning you upfront, might be tmi, so stop reading if you are not up for it.

OK, I've not had meals with more then 12 grams of fat since starting. I have not had any "accidents", where I end up with "stains or spotting", but I've had oil spots in the toilet after I go to the restroom. Should I not be having that, or is this supposed to happen? Am I eating too much fat? I've lost about 2 pounds since Monday.

So is this what is supposed to happen, or am I doing something wrong.

That's what's supposed to happen! That's the fat that didn't get to your hips and thighs! :cheer2:

Sorry to just jump in, but I am loving this discussion!

Just what ever you do, keep the fat grams down! :rolleyes1

The fear of an "alli-oops" is a GREAT tool!

Hey guys. Just checking in. Tomorrow will be my one week "check in" but I am already down 7.8 pounds. I am very pleased. I should mention that I switched to low carb on Thursday. At that point I had lost 3.8 pounds.

Very interesting. I had learned the "orange scare" on the website

I'll be watching and lurking on all of your outcomes. :) I don't know if I could afford the cost though so sticking with working on getting time for exercise and watching what I eat for now.

My Dh has used the prescription Xenical (Alli is made by the same company).
If he ate regular cheese or pizza there would be an oily orange film on the toliet water after a BM. Also, unfortunately he had bouts of uncontrollable gas. He sure wouldn't be happy to know I am sharing this information! The product did help though.:)

Can you please give some low-carb ideas... I am very interested.... I actually have the Alli pamphlet in my purse right now.... But you seem to be doing terrific..... (I forget... Have you had any "orange" issues?)

Thanks!!!

Ok, so I weighed in this morning.... 1 pound loss! That's it! When I went to myalli and put in all my information, they told me to be sure I am eating under 19 grams of fat, right? So I checked out my breakfast.... let's see 12 grams of fat.... that's ok... but then I check the fake butter product that I use on my toast.... 10 grams of fat!! So there's my culprit! I'm going to double check all my meals today, because obviously I can't count. :lmao:

I hope everyone did much better!;)

I'd love to know some low-carb ideas too. I've been doing it for 2 weeks and have lost 8 pounds so far. I need some meal ideas, though. Thanks.

is the fat gram per meal or per day? I just had a WW frozen dinner that was 5fg....how much more can I have throughout the day?

I got that fat free "I can't believe it's SNOT butter"....it's pretty good on toast. It's not as good as butter, but it's ok!

Are you logging on to the Nutrition Log to help keep track?

I mindlessly graze during the day! I swear I check the fridge and pantry 100 times a day to see if the food-fairy has stocked them with something interesting since the last time I checked! :rolleyes1

Ooooh... gotta go try that SNOT butter.:rotfl:

You know I forget to add the little things... even LIGHT mayo has 5g of fat in 1 tablespoon. :sad2:

Ok....so no... I haven't used the Nutrition Log.... shhh... I promise to go right now....

I am awaiting your weight loss for 1 week..... I mean, 7.8 for not even a week is terrific... By the way, how much was Alli at Walmart? It is 59.99 at CVS....

Utah Mama..... Are you doing Alli too? If so, how long have you been doing it? Just curious?

I've lost 5.4 pounds in my less than 3 days  and NOOOOO side effects!

I was even VERY opposed to myalli just a week ago! But I did my homework and decided to give it a try. I am SO glad I did!

It sort of like having a gun to my head because the the possibility of TE (Treatment effects) keeps me "good". I will not "Shart" (WHO first said that word? HOW FUNNY!)

I totally write down every single bite on the Nutrition Log on the site. That is a neato feature. It will tell you right there if you are on target with ALL the components of nutrition, like calcium, cholesterol, sugars, etc. I back that up with a paper journal provided.

There's also an exercise log. But I am a little bit borring with my 30 minute walks.

On staff, there's RN's and nutritionists to help people with questions. Like is it compatible with the diet they're already on or if they have gallbladder problems etc..

I set my first goal of 23 pounds for my Sept. WDW trip...which alone keeps me focused. Then I'll set another 15-20 pound goal.

Hey guys! Sorry I forgot to check in yesterday. My total for week one was 8.4 pounds and I wasn't even perfect! Very pleased.

Low carb is lending itself well to this, especially the low fat, lean protein plan that I follow.

I am loving this so far!

UtahMama--keep up the good work!

I have been following this thread and have enjoyed reading your comments. Congrats to all who have lost with this product, I am anxious to follow your progress.

I just bought it today. A friend and I are splitting the 60 pill bottle, we were a little afraid of the sharts (love that movie!) and we want to see if it really works before we're out any more money. Walmart had it for $40. I'm starting tomorrow and maybe the fear of the side effects keeps you in line more than anything but I'm desperate! I want to lose at least 15 more before our trip in 2 months and 45 lb overall. I want this to work so badly!

For those of you that asked for low carb ideas. My meals are generally pretty boring:

Breakfast: 3 Jimmy Dean Turkey sausage links and 3 egg whites cooked w/no fat spray.

Lunch: 4 ounces of chicken tenderloin (no skin)--I cook in a mixture of vinegar, italian spices, & garlic powder or tuna. I eat my protein either plain or w/a good handful of lettuce and FF italian dressing. 20 grams spicy pork rinds or a 2% cracker barrel cheese stick. Maybe a sugar free jello.

Dinner: 4-6 ounces of chicken or 4-5 ounces of LEAN steak (love london broil). Maybe a small salad. I would recommend broccoli or green beans if you like them. I am a terrible eater. I do not.

My diet plan? Kimkins. If you want to learn more about it:

Wow, Laurie! That is so funny that you posted this. I just joined Kimkins yesterday. I did the original Kimkins diets yesterday and took my alli and dropped 2.5 in 1 day! :woohoo:
I did some reseach on why the alli alone wasn't working, only to find out that if you are already on a low-fat diet, alli won't help much, if at all.
