My Alamo rate dropped again

I used the walmart code and the Alamo e-coupon last week with no problem

Right, but this is using a Wal-Mart code with Alamos coupon, which probably didn't have a contract ID number with it like the Entertainment coupon does. I don't know if you can mix and match, but I read on another thread a few weeks ago that they were not able to use a coupon that didn't go along with the contract ID that was used.

I have an amazing rate using the Wal-Mart code and an Entertainment coupon that was online. I would love to be able to use it. Hopefully someone who has used the Wal-Mart code and the Entertainment coupon will post about their experience.

I must have really lucked out...8 days beginning 6/17 - midsize SUV w/our QS referenced & entertainment id & code byw3 & $20 coupon = $122.47.

I've booked an Equinox for May using the code 430710 and rate code BY. Is this considered a coupon, thus causing me to go to the counter, or can I do on-line checkin and go straight to the garage? Thanks!

Hope I didn't give away any "state secrets"... it's the entertainment code, pops up automatically when you insert their ID number. Only valid w/their ID number.

It's been reported throughout these threads that although you cannot check in on-line using a coupon, you can go to the small counter on the 2nd floor of the garage & process your check-in there...certainly a shorter wait than the MCO terminal.

Can anyone tell me what product code byw3 is from? Always good to know before trying to use it, thanks!!

Curious, both WM w/inserted code BY & Enter. convert to the same code for week-long rentals? If you don't specify a code when using Enter. for shorter rentals (I tried 2 days), an entirely different code pops up.

I called Alamo before & inquired if you could mix & match ID's/Codes/Coupons (ala National) but, was told absolutely not.

:scratchin Now, I'm starting to wonder if you can combine the internet coupons they list on their site with other ID's/Codes...has anyone had success in picking up a vehicle this way?

BY is the rate code for Walmart. It changes to BYW3 after you continue.

I rented from Alamo Feb. 2-10 and used the walmart code/BY and the alamo online $15 ecoupon and had no trouble whatsoever when picking up my car or dropping off. The quote was exactly what I expected.

Good to hear, always check to see if the on-line coupons beat the Enter.

Also, has anyone tried the mousesavers AD14 as their code...it's supposed to be a "customer loyalty promo" good for $20 off res. I just tried it w/my existing res. & got the same rate - might be worth a try...

Do I need any coupons with me when I pick up my car if I use those codes???? This set of codes will save me an additional $45 from my previously booked rental, BUT I want to make sure I don't need to bring anything with me (I don't have an Entertainment Book).

Thanks...

I also just ran the rates again using the codes and it is about $100 cheaper?
I printed out the new rates and it says... codes applied.

Now here is the question.... do I have to produce something special when I pick up the car to prove I should be getting the lowest rate????

Thanks
Chris

If you're using the Entertainment ID, I have been asked to produce my membership card (not @ National but, Alamo). At this point, the Enter. books can be picked up for $20.

If you're using a coupon, they do ask to see it when you check-in; along w/CC, DL, proof of insur. etc.

QS registration (usually $50?) is still being offered "free" from mousesaver link...go to the transportation/rental car/Alamo page & there are details on both QS & rate code AD14.

The WalMart code is for anyone who is a customer (most of us I assume, whether we want to be or not).

enjoy the magic.

Do I have to check in at the counter if I'm using the Walmart BY code, or can I check in online?

I tried the PREPAY code and dropped the rate down to $179 for the rental period. I then applied the Alamo $15 off coupon code which takes my rate down to $161.

My question is will they allow me to use both the Prepay discount and the $15 off code? Anyone have experience with this?

Thank you, Ohiomom28! :)

Yes. I just rented from Alamo on Feb. 2-10. I used prepay, plus the $15 online coupon. It was not a problem at all. I also signed up for QS the night before, but still had to get in line as my QS account was not activated yet. I had an uplander for 9 days rentaly and paid $157 total.
