My ADR Drama - for anyone who is interested...hehe

Okay, so I've been planning my forthcoming vacation (July 21-29) for about 6 months now. I planned ahead and booked ALL my dining early on and was so proud of myself! Now, my girlfriend and I (who have been together for almost 8 years) having been hoping for this vacation (okay, mostly *I* have been hoping for this vacation) since the year 2000 and all the pieces finally fell into place.

Well, about 3 weeks ago, we broke up. I currently live in Texas and she lives in Massachusetts and we've been living separately for the past year and a half and long story short, the distance was becoming very trying. Well, as unthrilled as I was about taking this vacation without her, I decided not to cancel and to change the reservations from her name to my sister's name and take her with me instead. Which I did.

Lo and behold, a week later and the gf and I reconcile and are back together. Well, I'm certainly not going to uninvite my sister now! But gf decides she is going to just meet us down there. So, this means changes all my ADRs from 2 people to 3 people. So, I spend 45 minutes on the phone with a wonderful cast member who was so patient and took great care of me (foolishly, I've forgotten her name!) She was able to change all of my ADRs, including Hoop Dee Doo, to 3 people with just over a month to go! Unfortunately, one did not get changed - Mama Melrose w/Fantasmic - as there was just no room for the night we needed it. But she suggested I keep trying back, because spots always open up.

So, I did call back. The very next day...and while the time was not ideal (4 PMish), it was better than nothing! So, I snagged it and canceled the old reservation. Well, I realize after getting off the phone that I changed said reservation to the WRONG DAY! So, I finally get a chance to call today...and there is such a thing as a happy ending! I got a reservation for 3 for the day I really needed (though, of course, it's at 3:50 in the afternoon! hehe).

So, that is my ADR catastrophe.

I guess "All's well that ends well!". Glad you got it worked out, I know things like that can make you a basketcase. Hope yall have a really great time. I am anxious to hear what you think of Wolfgang Puck's, we have reservations there for September.

Your ADR's sound terrific! You three will have a great time together.

We are going about a month before you, and I also could only make a 4 pm'ish FDP reservation. To me that time would just jam up the whole day, but we do enjoy Fantasmic. The solution presented itself when they added a second Fantasmic show for every day of our visit! So we decided to cancel the FDP reservation and just go to the 10:30 show that night, for which you do not have to arrive so early. I noticed the last week of July there is a second show all but 2 nights, and they might even add that later, as they did for our week. Have fun whatever you decide!

I'm glad it all turned out okay, and Congratulations on reconciling with your gf! 8 years together is certainly worth salvaging. I hope you all have a wonderful trip.
