she didn't trick or treat last yr because she was afraid to, I thought that this yr would be better, but she doesn't even want to dress up for the preschool halloween party.
. We walk in the halloween aisle at walmart and she is fine, even tries on the masks, but when you see something on tv or read a berenstein bear halloween story, or any halloween fun story book she quickly grabs another book and says not to read it. Is anyone else out there in the same boat? My other 2 children loved halloween as much as I do. We do not do scarey stuff at all (even though this yr 8 yr old dd wants to be a witch) as far as decorating the house, it is all funny stuff. To us halloween is just dressing up and getting candy, none of the old story stuff about where it originated and no scarey movies about it in our house. Even I get nightmares from them.
What do you do for your child to ease their fear? AND what fun things do you have in the house for them when you take the others out trick or treating?
