My 28th trip to WDW (4/17-4/23)...and my 1st trip report? Updated 4/30... TRIP REPORT

How exciting, I'm sure you all will have a great time. Can't wait to here about your thoughts on the Pirate League. I was planning to book it for my 2 youngest when we go in August but I'm still debating, not sure if they would like it or if it's worth it.:confused3

:yay: on booking the cruise!! I have also read mixed reviews but like you said you'll never know what it's like until you experience it for yourselves :goodvibes

It's true... so many times we have eaten at restaurants that others don't rave about and we love them! I have 2 friends who have done this cruise. One family (with 2 girls age 7 and 5) loved it and convinced us to do it.... the other (2 grown adults) HATED it and told me to cancel, that it was the biggest waste of money they ever spent! I am pretty sure that Shasha and Po will LOVE IT! :) I sure hope they do!

We are going AGAIN in August, too! When will you be there?

The one thing that I do love about going to the Happiest Place on Earth are the crowds....:lmao: OK, maybe not the crowds... did I mention that every day, except 1, we are in Disney this April is a 10 out of 10 on the crowd calendar?:scared1:And that 1 day that isn't a 10 is a 9!!!!

OK... so it's NOT really the crowds itself that I like but the fact that the crowds force LONG park hours! The Magic Kingdom will be open every day of our trip from 8 am till at least 11pm, 12 am or 1 am!!!! AND extra Magic hours are from 7 am untill 8 am EVERY SINGLE MORNING:upsidedow! YES, we ARE morning park people! Our plan will be to get up and out to the park most every morning by 7:30 am to enjoy the super low crowds, shorter lines and have ourselves a magical start to the days:) Then, we will enjoy our lunches at about 11:30 or 12 and head back to Jambo House to rest, relax and swim!

Wednesday morning will certainly be an exception to all of this early AM nonsense:rolleyes1 as I am certain we will not be waking the kids (or ourselves) after watching the 10 pm Wishes on our Pirate pirate:Cruise Tuesday night! But it is all good... the large crowds, the long hours, the magical mornings, the early lunches and the afternoon naps... it will be simply magical! :wizard:And yes... we have done it before so I know we will do it again!

We will be there 8-24/9-1. I hope the crowds aren't too bad for you. I don't think I could ever go when it's that crowded. We love going after Labor Day but pulling the kids out of school is no longer an option.

We will miss you! We are going back to the World on August 8 and then boarding the Disney Dream on the 16th for 5 nights! I start school on August 24... kids will have orientation on August 26 and then the year officially... officially begins on August 29! My daughter starts kindergarten this school year and I am both excited and nervous for her! She has kindergarten registration tomorrow, March 30, and is VERY excited! :goodvibes

As a teacher:teacher:... the only times I ever get to go to WDW (and anywhere else for that matter) is during holiday and summer vacations.:sad1: So it is it always crowded, expensive and HOT! But we love traveling and to be honest since we haven't ever been able to travel at other times... we don't know the difference!

Wow, your August vacation sounds great, two weeks of Disney fun. How exciting for your DD my little one will also be entering Kindergarten in Sept. so I know how you feel.

You must be the only person I know that has written they actually enjoy the crowds lol!! :rotfl: I understand why you enjoy the long park hours though - it is the one thing I am sure we will miss but you can't have it all!

What age range do you teach? It sure is hard to fit holidays around the teaching calendar - it's the one thing I am not looking forward to when I find permanent work! :)

Well, I wouldn't say that I "enjoy" the crowds but I do love the long hours that the parks are open when crowds are expected! In 2005 and 2008, we were in Disney at the same time, Easter Break. Both times I remember Magic Kingdom maxing out in attendance and not allowing any more guests into the park! They even stop transportation to the park:scared1:! We are just prepared... and if we don't make one of our ADR's in the evening... no big deal! There are lots of places to eat!

I am a school librarian for grades 6,7 and 8. Next year we add grade 5 to the mix and I will actually get to teach Library skills again!:thumbsup2 (We are in process of moving into our brand new intermediate school )
It is such a bad time for teachers here in PA... our governor is not pro-education and we are rapidly losing funding. High expectations for student test scores remain VERY high, however.

:goodvibes 18 days left before we are off to the MAGIC:wizard:

I am so needing this right now! The pressure is on right now as I am not meeting 2 deadlines right now at school!:sad2: I have big yellow boxes flashing OVERDUE at me every time I log into my yearbook site (I am the school yearbook advisor) and I am being told every single day, sometimes twice a day, that I am not packing up the school library fast enough :headache:for our building move... which by the way will happen the first day back to school after Easter break!

It is nice to know that I have some pixie dust coming my way!pixiedust:

Wow work sure does sound stressful! Hope the move goes ok and am glad you have some pixie dust coming your way soon ;)

It is... and home life goes on! Hasn't gotten any easier! The kids have just as many activities to get to each night and by the time I am done dealing with all the dusty books and cardboard boxes... I am sooo tired! But on the plus side... I am getting a good workout:lmao:... See I just needed to see the positive side to all of this and now I am happy again!:)

Wow, so just to confirm that WDW will be very crowded the entire week we are enjoying our magical stay they have released a Disney Dining Discount good for 25% off at Quick Service restaurants for off peak dining hours!:lmao:
You can find the coupon at http://parksandresorts.wdpromedia.c...blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/dwc019389.pdf I know that we can use this coupon at least on two occasions while on our trip. On Tuesday, April 19 we are planning to eat an early lunch at Pizzafari while at the Animal Kingdom and on Wednesday, April 20 we are planning to eat an early lunch before Scott's WDW Speedway experience at the MK or Epcot! So yippee... we received a little pixie dust pixiedust:that we can use!:goodvibes

I printed a few coupons out but I also heard from some FB friends that these coupons are readily available at Disney, so really no need. If we end up not making one of our ADR's the extra's may vome in handy! You just never know with a Disney vacation... I did lots of planning but am always open to changes! You have to be... especially with kids, the heat, and the crowds! Accepting change is what keeps the whole Disney trip MAGICAL:wizard:

And unexpected 25% off coupons are just a bonus! Now if I could just that 40th anniversary WDW Dooney and Bourke bag that I want for 25% off :rolleyes1

Next up... Shasha's new Minnie dress and Pirate outfit!

Thanks for the info - if you find a 25% discount voucher for the D&B bag def let me know!! :thumbsup2

Great pre-trip report! We will be following in your footsteps. I can't wait to hear about Via Napoli. We are excited to try it out.

Wow! Thanks for posting! :goodvibes I can't wait to try Via Napoli myself! Pizza is one of my very favorite foods... Cheese is number 1... and pizza has lots of CHEESE on it! :rotfl:

I see in your signature that you stayed at POFQ on your honeymoon... So did WE!!!! That was 14 years ago and the start of a wonderful relationship:lovestruc And I mean Scott and I with Disney!

OK... I can't NOT take advantage of this whole 25% off Disney Dining at Quick Service restaurants discount thing so I was forced (really, I think someone was twisting my arm... OK, so that someone was me!) So, I made a few little changes in our meal plan:idea:...
I was able to get a 4:15 pm ADR at Rose and Crown (remember, my favorite so I couldn't give it up) for Monday, the 18th. I think I was really lucky to get a dinner ADR for Rose and Crown this close to the trip! So I cancelled our Monday Rose and Crown lunch reservation. We will now take advantage of the 25% off at a Quick Service meal at the Magic Kingdom. Maybe we will try Pinocchio Village Haus since I haven't ever had more than a cookie and hot cocoa in there. I have heard the meatball sandwich is delicious! Of course, I will have to hop over to Allears and check to be sure they have something for my little vegetarian to eat:goodvibes

And moving my R&C ADR to Monday night meant that I needed to move our Beaches and Cream meal... Shasha would NEVER forgive me:sad2: if we didn't eat here! So I cancelled Thursday's Grand Floridian Cafe ADR and we will head over to Beach Club for an early lunch at B&C instead that day. It is probably better to get to Beaches and Cream early anyway as the wait can get a bit long at dinner time.

And I changed all this on my ADR post, too!

Now I need to load those Lil' Bug clothing pics!!! Shasha's Piratepirate: costume is very pretty and I want to share!!!!
