Day One: Have my DD drop us off at the Buffalo airport. First trip without the kids. Would you believe I started to cry that I was leaving her behind along with my son. Whizzed right through check-in sending off our luggage with the magical express tags firmly attached, then to security. Of course we had to take off our shoes. My DH always has to remove his belt, shoes etc. Even then he set off the beeper. So they had to check him out closely, maybe a little too closely for his taste.
So we sat for almost 2 hours playing cards, buying overpriced coffee and just chatting waiting for our flight. Flight arrives on time we take off for our magical trip. We arrive in Orlando 20 minutes early
Weather is perfect after following the weather for weeks hearing how much rain they were getting every day. Hmmm maybe a different Orlando Fla. But I did remember to pack the Mickey umbrella, and rain ponchos from Dollar tree.
After a bit of confusion in the airport we found the CM with the Mickey hand who then directed us in the right direction. How great is was not to worry about our luggage. From that point on everything went to smoothly. The only disapointment was we had a Mear bus not one of the new Magical Express buses. Inside we did have the tv monitor. Grabbed a font seat so we could be first in line at the Hotel Check in. Had to stop off at Pop Century first so half the bus could unload. Finally we were next the Coronado Springs Resort. Yeah!!!!
We checked in and our reservation stated the Casaitas bldg. She asked which part of the bldg and I just asked near the quiet pool would be nice. So she put us right in the side right next to the pool how conveinent was that!!!!
We basically just tossed our carryons in the room washed up a bit and made a beeline to the buses as we had a PS for the Crystal Palace for dinner.
The bus showed up just minutes after we arrived, we hopped right on and off to the MK we went. I was just so excited
Well since it was already about 4:00 the sky's started clouding up and it just started to rain as we got thru the gates. Darn if I was going to let the rain ruin my trip.
First stop the Main street Cinema to pick up my Pal Mickey I have planed to get him for the past few months. I had my certificate in hand for my free Pal Mickey pin, and after I purchased him the CM told me that with this certificate I also get a special programing so he says even more goodies. Yeah the PD has started. He stated him up and scanned with with some kind of bar code wand. Made sure he worked and off we went.
Now off to the CP for dinner. This was my first character meal ever. We checked in and were given a beeper. Now it really started to pour. We stood outside waiting to be beeped undercover when finally we were called. We were taken to our table and everything was explained. Wow it was so pretty inside. Everything looked and tasted delicous. All the characters came around. When my DH was going for another helping Tigger bounced up to me and kissed my hand.
OK, I'm hooked love that Tigger.
After dinner we went outside and the rain stopped.
Now off to explore the park. Our first night we really did not do too many attractions mostly shops. But we did do Pirates of the C, Haunted Mansion, Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain. Of course my DH had to order the picture.
Pal Mickey was so cute with his jokes and facts, then we told us it was almost time for the Spectromagic parade. My favorite parade too. My eyes always tear up at the opening trumpets of this parade. We had a great spot took pictures like crazy. Afterwards headed towards Tomorrowland. Had to hit Space Mountian. Every notice after the years there is just not as much room in the seating as when you were younger?
After Space Mountain we puttered aournd Tommorrowland looking at shops and getting a cool drink. We saw the end of the fireworks show, Darn missed the beginning it is such a great show. But it was a long day so we headed back. Again had to hit the shops on Main street. Rode the bus back to our hotel, and when we got there our luggage was waiting. Yeah that worked too. We changed and went to relax in the pool for about an hour discussing our plans for day 2 at Epcot. I reminded my DH about my goal of having my picture taken with my favorite little alein Stitch. He is just so darn cute.
This was our first day in Disney. Not to bad since we did not arrive in the park until about 4:00.
