We just got back from a nine night stay at the World and I wanted to share my humble opinions of our resorts. For our first 4 nights we stayed at CR. I had gotten a rate for $166 a night. We were on the third floor in the North Garden Wing. Our room overlooked a corner of Bay Lake. We also had a great view of Space Mountain from our room. We could see the top of the castle over the rest of the wing. We had no problems watching the fireworks from our room. It did seem to be a little bit of a hike to pool and food court but it did not seem to bother us. Kids loved the pool and slide. Also enjoyed the Electric Water Parade at night from the beach. Next we stayed 4 nights at AKL. I had also gotten a rate of $166 a night for savannah view. This resort is AWESOME! There is nothing like watching animals from the privacy of your own balcony at all hours of the day/night. There are so many activities for the kids. Most are free, but my kids did make the African Rag dolls for $12 a piece. If you are staying here, plan to spend time at the hotel and soak up all that it has to offer. The room was a bit smaller than CR but much nicer. Our last night was at SOG (Shades of Green). I got a rate of $104 a night - my husband is civil service. The room was HUGE!!!! They have remodeled and this resort is beautiful. Would highly recommend. Any ???'s

Sounds like you had a great time and some great rates!!! Welcome back glad you had a Magical vacation!

We also loved the SOG and AKL. We're going to be staying at the CR first week of August in a standard wing room (unless we get upgraded, of course ;) ). How was your room there?

How did you get such good rates at AKL and CR? Our AP rate at AKL in May was more than this.

The room was okay. It was a garden view wing room, no upgrades. It was clean, but nothing special. I am glad that it was the first hotel during our stay because it would have been a big disappointment after the other two. I personally will never pay that kind of money to stay there, and that was with a huge discount. You are paying for location, location, location!!!! Yes it was nice to hop right onto the monorail to go to MK, but it also makes you feel as if MK and Epcot are the only two parks you should visit because of the monorail. Otherwise why would you pay for that perk? For the money I think that I would prefer another resort. We ate at the Yachtsman and the Yacht and Beach Club looked alot better for similar money! I don't want to give you the wrong impression, the CR is a nice hotel. It is older than most but not too rundown. It is just I would rather spend my money on a different hotel. But what do I know, I had a hard time shallowing $166 a night for any hotel!!! :confused3

Thanks to this board, I called and had a discount code attached to my name. It worked out that we were already going down at this time of year for my husband's work (he had training).
