My 16 month old is driving me batty!

As for the people with those kids that listen to a simple "no", you are sooo lucky! My SIL has one of those kids and I swear she thinks I can't control my kid. She's having another baby in a month. I secretly hope she gets a busy one like mine this time!!

She probably will!
I could go on with stories from my 14 month old. My 6 year old was the "PERFECT" baby. I could put him in his infant seat, swing, exersaucer,etc and clean my kitchen or do a little laundry(which is a blessing to any mom!) I didn't keep him in it all day or anything. as he got older, he was perfectly occupied with a puzzle. everybody says "oh adam is so quiet. is he always like this? how lucky for you!"
now with ben, these same people are like "wow do you even know how to control your kid?" they are so different. its like night and day. Ben hated the swing, walker, infant seat the carts at the grocery store. he just does not like being confined!

My son is a holy terror! into everything. We go to the playground ALOT! we also take LONG family walks every day. The more entertained the better he is, and the more TIRED he is the less stuff he climbs, breaks, rips, ect!
I get that impish grin all the time. So cute and so devilish!

We had magnetic locks on all the cabinet doors and kept the 'key' on top of the fridge. I also got in the habit of keeping the house alarm system armed all the time, that way if DD opened a door or window, I'd know!

A co-worker of mine actually had an alarm system installed b/c her son was so good at opening doors and windows (didn't matter if they were locked) at a young age. It tells her what window or door is being opened as the little guy tries to make his escape. That kid can escape pretty much anything, she's convinced he'll be an engineer or mechanic when he grows up.
