brought me a "present" at 3:30 this morning. She was crying in the hallway, not her normal cry but a muffled meowing noise. Next thing I know she's jumped up at the bottom of the bed (which is difficult for the old girl to do), still crying. I figure she's hungry, so I get up, walk to the bottom of the bed, pick her up and notice a "blob" on the bed. It took me about a half a second to figure out what it was. I scream at DH to get up, hit the light, and there it is - a DEAD MOUSE. I tug on the covers to move it a little, and it flips itself over, runs to the footboard , jumps on the floor and runs under the dresser, with the cat and 2 dogs in tow. After getting the cat and dogs out of the room, DH gets a broom, a wastepaper basket and the dog's pillow and we manage to get it in the basket, cover it and take it outside. I can't believe my half crippled, half blind, totally deaf cat was fast enough to catch a mouse. I'm so glad I got up before she had a chance to get to the TOP of the bed and leave her little gift on my pillow.

LOL ahhh the joys of parenthood, with pets of course! Nothing better than some half dead or still living animal dropped on you or near you while you are in a dead sleep to make you appreciate your pet!:crazy2: My favortie is still the time I stepped outside my door in my pj's and got assaulted by a million feathers. I never knew birds had that many feathers and that my kitty could smile, lol!

I can't begin to count the "little" gifts that either the cat or the dogs have dragged into the house. Thankfully, DH has found them before I did.

   I've had a very similar thing happen to me!!!...

I was housesitting/pet sitting for some people back when I was a teen. So I slept at their house. They had 3 cats (who were allowed in or out) and 2 big dogs. Anyway, I slept on their couch, and one night one of the cats was crying at the door to come inside. So I get up, half asleep, let her in and fall back on the couch to sleep. Next thing I know she's practically sitting on my head and meowing like crazy. It's dark so I can't see much. I get up and turn the light on and there is a dead shrew (or is it shru?? lol) sitting on my pillow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I just about jumped out of my skin!! I couldn't even move for a second, it had to sink in I think. lol Poor cat was just trying to show me her prize! Well, once I got ahold of myself, I picked up the pillow and used it to toss the shrew in the trash. I kept the cats INSIDE the rest of that weekend.

She was only trying to share ;)

Aren't kitties fun?.

I am glad that your old cat is still able to experience the joy of catching something and sharing it with her "people" :p

don't you just love it when they show you what they've caught??
