My 100th post and a BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE

Thanks for checking on the phone...one night, I spent HOURS trying to get something to work- no one can deal with this model - I've already lodged a complaint with Alltel but they don't consider "incompatability with Disney ringtones" to be a valid reason to switch phones!!!

Oh, well...I'll keep trying! I do at least have it playing Inspector Gadget since that was a Disney release - not quite the same thing as the ship's horn, though! I've also been trying to get "Under the Sea" because I thought that would be cruise-spirited if I couldn't get the horn but no luck!

Too funny that your DD already knows her 2006 b-day...My 8 yr. old DD remembers her grandmother promising a trip to NYC for her 16th and she's already counting down!

Is your daughter's pregnancy your first grandchild? How exciting Disney can be with grandkids:p

I speak on behalf of my parents and inlaws...we usually ALL go to WDW together - how's that for the Cajun family unit?!?!?!

My dd has a 3 year old daughter now and is expecting her first son, Ian soon. Ian is an Iraqi Freedom baby.

It truly broke my heart that she was going to be passed her 24th week and would not be able to cruise. My granddaughter loves the Disney princesses and she would be extremely thrilled to be on the ship with us.

I really felt like the timing was great for a cruise this year with them since my son-in-law spent time in Iraq from January through May during the onset of the war.

No amount of pleading would get Disney to change their mind. I do realize it is in the best interest of my daughter and her unborn child though.

However . . . it does give us a reason to go back a third time!

Our first was with my middle child and my husband's youngest son (along with my youngest). This cruise is with my husband's oldest son, daughter-in-law and two granddaughters (with my youngest again). We're just having to save the best for last . . . my two grandchildren!

:)

are they all Disney fans???

I've sensed that DCL is really strict about the pregnancy limit. We're going with a big group and one family had to change their minds because they had a little surprise during the planning a few months ago. I guess the middle of the ocean isn't the best place to be after a certain time...that, and having just been on another cruise (Carnival), there are some unexpected rocking moments that I think would have thrown me off balance were I pregant.

Still, I'm sure you'd love your whole family there with you. How proud you must be to have a hero in the family:D

Yes -- everyone in the family is a Disney fanatic!

Ed's younger son just got engaged and is planning his wedding and honeymoon for July, 2005. They are waiting impatiently for the cruise rates/schedules to be released because they want to go back on a Disney cruise for their honeymoon. We took his girlfriend with us on our first cruise in 2001 and she can't wait to go back again! She is a TRUE Disney NUT!

How fun that you all love it! I am definitely raising 2 fanatics over here - DH was a huge fan but lately he says I'm "overdoing it" and it's lessening the thrill for him...WHAT?!?!?

Oh, well! I even turned my classroom into the parks so I could feel like I'm there everyday - now my 13 students, they are fans right along with me!

Speaking of which...must go - time to sleep so I can work tomorrow...nice talking to you...see you on the boards!

Linda:

We can share our accent with the other 2500 people onboard!

How's your weather? Storming terribly outside - lightning and thunder included!

Lisa

I don't want to hear anything about bad weather being thunderstorms.:D We are expecting another winter storm tommorrow with 5"-8" more of snow.

Can't wait for that cruise!

Bruce:

My weather.com forecast on my desktop says it will be 73 degrees tomorrow! Too bad it'll be storming most of the day though!

;)

Lisa:

It is currently 15 here with a high of 30 tommorrow. How do you deal with this "terrible" weather you are having in LA? You can always come up north to get away from yur bad weather.:teeth:

At times, we can get 5-10 inches of rain in a matter of hours. In most other places, you'd float away with that much rain. Well . . . that much rain in New Orleans and they usually have localized flooding but here the ditches and the bayous fill up but drain off quickly.

Rain is a way of life here. When it rains, it pours, When the sun shines, its hot -- summertime heat index over 100 regularly. When its 50 -- its down right cold because of the humidity we have.

We have to endure hurricanes on occassion as well. That is usually when we take an impromptu vacation. We look to see which way the hurricane is projected to hit and we go the opposite way and find something fun to do for a few days (after putting up the hurricane shutters on the windows and tying everything down).

So -- while you suffer in the winter, we suffer in the summer.

Well, I'm going to use your thread to boost me closer to #1000! Congrats on 100 (actually 115 right now) - you gotta love the dis for all the info it provides.:wave2:

Congratulations on your 100th! You certainly are a big contributor here, also. You need to be thanked BIG time.

Lisa, the weather was yuch today. It was warm this morning with 100% humidity(even without any rain). As the front came through I am sure I got at least 5 inches of rain. The backyard is flooded. Hope it quits soon, or the roads may soon shut down.

But then--it wasn't ice and snow. So I guess it's OK.

Linda:

Its been raining here all day but now i(11:20 PM) ts pouring. I know ya'll had the training effect with the thunderstorms all day and are going to get the cold front before us.

This back and forth weather and lower than normal winter temps are for the birds!

I have a friend that went to St. Thomas about two weeks ago. Cheri said that the air temps were about 85 and the beaches felt awesome. She said the water was a little too cool for her liking but it wasn't bad.

I'm praying for warm, sunny skies while we're on our trip!!!

Lisa

Thanks to all the well-wishers and co-celebrators that have stopped by this thread while surfing the board!

I feel SPECIAL!

Lisa

Hey, Lisa!

Did you see that thread asking about Disney doing anything onboard for Mardi Gras?

I replied that I'm sure the Wonder will have a little party atmosphere...are you going to celebrate on the Magic?

Last time we were in WDW for Carnival, there were people everywhere in their purple/green/gold shirts and beads...of course DH thought that was really "too cute" but I thought it might be fun to do something...any ideas... the Mardi Gras Mamas on this board have to stick together:jester:

I'm probably going to go get some "good" beads to take and we'll pack regulars (as much that can fit)!

Parades start here next weekend. We're hoping for good weather!
