My #1 posting pet peeve is...

OK, now I’m on a roll! Here’s another one. I hate when people lecture people about how they shouldn’t be posting personal information. I don’t mean dangerous stuff like names and locations -- just stuff like venting about something or someone. You always get those people who say “I can’t believe you’re sharing this in a public forum!” or “how would your DH, DD, DS etc. feel if they knew you were posting that?” Well, it’s none of your business what other people wish to share about THEIR lives! One of the greatest things about the DIS is that you can vent about whatever you need to or share whatever you want to share – anonymously. If what someone is posting is TMI for you, don’t read it!

I don't like some shorthand that is used. I cannot stand: How R U?

It bothers me when people won't use the shift key or use punctuation.

Oh...I thought of another one...when people give a dissenting opinion (not insulting, just dissenting) and someone accuses them of flaming. HELLO - a different opinion is NOT a flame!

Well, seeing as we aren't applying for a job and we ARE outside of the classroom, why should we really care about grammar on the internet just because it bugs you?:confused3 :confused3

I don't recall asking anyone to care whether or not it bugs me. The OP asked for people's posting pet peeves, and I answered. 'Nuff said.

Have a nice day. :)

My pet peeve are those that will come into a poltical thread and just keep harping on the same thing over and over, then they are incredulous when everyone doesn't immediatley change their political belief to agree with them.

Like if I was out in right field that one person telling me how wrong I was is going to make me go, "Oh wow, I guess you are right and I am wrong so now I'm in left field"

I too like using just the popcorn guy when a good thread comes up. I don't want to get in the middle of all of it, but I sure like reading it!:lmao:

My pet peeve is just people who can't keep it friendly. Ok, we ask for your opinion, but keep it just that. If you don't agree with it, ok, say you don't agree and say why. You don't have to turn it ugly and nasty, but I guess some people get off on that. Reminds me of my inlaws, if you don't believe how they believe or do how they do, its just plain wrong, no question...and they will tell you that. Ok off subject.....:rotfl2:

These are all good ones! Run-on sentences without punctuation drive me nuts. But the one that bugs me the most is when people respond to a post with the word "much" after a word. I don't see it here very often, but here are some examples:

"Jealous much?" "Obsess much?" "Hate much?"

I don't get it...:confused3
