My #1 posting pet peeve is...

This is the only posting pet peeve that really really bugs me. Sure, I have other posting pet peeves such as when someone posts one loooong paragraph with no punctuation, but this one really takes the cake.

When someone posts nothing more than:



What is the purpose of that? You are not contributing to the thread at all. If you have something to say, post your opinion and THEN post the popcorn guy. Are you trying to boost your post count?

I like the "just popcorn" posts myself. I think it's a non-text way of saying - "this is gonna be good".

My pet peeve is the long post with no paragraphs. I can't do them - my eyes get all buggy.

My #1 posting pet peeve? I think that this is a discussion forum, and it's okay to discuss and disagree! But, people take it too seriously. I mean, come on, how many people do you know personally on these boards? Opinions are opinions and people are entitled to have them. Don't attack the person. Debate the opinion. Sorry...vent over!

No paragraphs or punctuation make things tough but my dream would be if they turned off the ability to change the font and colors of posts. Some are very hard to read and the rest are just distracting.

I agree with you. I am a member of another non-disney board and a lot of poster will answer "Use the search Function" to any thread you post...It ticks me off royally.

My posting pet peeve is when people refuse to use any punctuation other than ellipses...........like this...........no periods.............no question marks.......they just string a butt-load of sentences (or fragments) together..........with no paragraph breaks.........and I guess they wouldn't even be considered ellipses, since there are more than 3 dots..........they are more like leaders.........

I know this is a newbie friendly board....but not using the SHIFT keys drives me nuts. I won't even read those posts. My eyes just can't adjust to it.

Also, I like just the posts. Its cute and allows you to "subscribe" without actually posting "subscribe" (see how I snuck 2 peeves in there )

Even if you can't figure out a logical point to put a break, put one in somewhere anyway, just to make it reader friendly.

Unless someone quotes you and flat out makes accusations that you did something wrong when you know in your heart you did nothing of the kind. Its at that point where it becomes personal.

Okay, that was a long sentence and I am sure that is someone's pet peeve.

My pet peeve is when a thread is obviously hijacked with mindless dribble. Its at that point where I truly feel sorry for the OP, especially when they have an honest topic.

Also misspellings:

You lose weight not loose it.
You are dining not dinning.
Its congratulations not congradulations.

People who post a reply that makes it obvious that they didn't read the OP in the first place.

For example if I post a topic that says:

I am looking for an xyzwidget and have looked on ebay for 3 months and can't find one, where else should I look?

And then I get responses back that say

"have you tried ebay?"


Or

"we are looking for a place in Epcot that would be fun for lunch etc.."

A: We really like Crystal Palace, you should try there.




I try to be very specific when I post a question or topic and it just makes me want to slap someone when I get a response that was ALREADY covered in my OP.

If you aren't going to take the time to read the entire OP, then don't bother to answer me!!!!

Oh, and I actually find the rather funny when I see it (I don't usually do it) but I have a warped sense of humor. And I made a great friend here on the boards from it!
