We have never been to WDW during the holiday season before but are scheduled to be there Dec. 18 - 22nd this year. Being there to see all the decorations, etc will be a real treat in itself, but now I'm wondering if we need to take off a day early and get there on the 17th in order to do MVMCP? It would mean missing a day of school for the kids and for us (we're both teachers) and finding someplace different to stay since our visit is through DVC on points and it can't be extended. Our family is DH, DD11, DS8, DS4 and me! I guess my bottom line question is: Is it worth the extra expense, trouble of getting off work, making additional reservations, etc.... just to do the event on Friday, Dec. 17th - or we will be in for a big enough treat having never been to WDW at Christmastime?

Hard to equate the extra effort and the fun of MVMCP. I do know I have been to about 7 or 8 of them over the past 5 years, have 2 scheduled for this year. They are fun. I would say a Friday one will be quite crowded. If you can do it, I say go for it.

I am a teacher with one child in 8th and one in 4th. We are taking off a day early to do MVMCP. The kids will miss one half-day (conference day) and I will miss the conference day and one work day. We have been to MVMCP before and don't want to miss it this time!

I wouldn't go to all of that hassle to go. I've been to a party every year for the last three years and I have enjoyed them, but I wouldn't go so much out of my way to do it especially for a Friday night party. Friday night will be very crowded and you may enjoy your time during the rest of your stay more if you aren't out so late on your first night at WDW.

MVMCP is a very magical event,that said if you are going to attend,buy your tickets now because I think MVMCP you would attend is going to be a sell out.
