My DH recently returned from a deployment overseas. Since Disney has come out with the armed forces salute, we are seriously considering making a trip to Disney in early December. We have 3 young children, (7, 4 and 1) and our middle son would turn 5 while we are at Disney.

We are thinking of going to the MVMCP on my son's birthday. Can any of you give me some idea of what exactly goes on during MVMCP. We have always wanted to visit in December, but this is the first time we're able to do it.

We were last at Disney in the fall of 2000 for the millenium celebration.

Thanks for your help!!

It was snowing on Main St., they were serving hot chocolate and cookies over next to the Jungle Cruise, you could get your photos made, there was a special Christmas parade, there were carolers and it just seemed like a special Christmas trip. We will be there again on 12/4.

ruvidu, we will be there December 4 too. I've never been there at Christmas, so I'm very excited too!!!

We took my DD for her 4th BD to MVMCP - only we called it "Morganne's Very Merry Birthday Party". We told her the party was thrown in her honor - and she belived it! It was a wonderful evening. It rained just before the party started, so the crowds were minimal. We ate at LTT and then when the party started - we were already in the middle of things!

One of the highlights was riding Dumbo that evening. The CM who was loading everyone on the ride started the ride just as we came up. We were first for the next ride. She noticed DD's bday pin and also noticed her name on her Guest of Honor pin. While we were on the ride she sang Happy Birthday to Morganne!

Due to the low crowds we got curb seats right in front of the castle for the parade. We were so close the dancing Christmas trees nearly rolled over our toes!

We had such a wonderful time we are going back for BDay #7 this year. The only problem with a BDay like this is it is pretty hard to come up with a better party the next year - you end up coming back!

It's lots of fun, but don't feel that you HAVE to do it. There are plenty of other good ways to celebrate birthdays at WDW!

If your little ones are going to collapse around 8:00 or 8:30, it's not worth the money. And that seems likely if they've had a busy day up till then. We passed up MVMCP last year with 9 & 6 year olds for that reason (DS6 is very good at making everyone miserable when he gets tired), but are planning to do it this year. We're also going in early Dec, so maybe we'll see you there!
