Please answer a question that is bothering me about the above. We hope to go to WDW next Dec :santa:. We aren't interested or $$$$ able to attend MVMCP. Even though we are resort guests (hopefully :cloud9:), are we getting short changed :confused3? I ask b/c I thought they close the park early on these 18 days. So if we want to see Wishes, do we need to attend MK on the nights that MVMCP is not going on? Hope this makes sense.

I am TOTALLY ADDICTED TO DISBOARDS!

On nights of the party there USED to be regular Wishes before park close. I don't think they do that anymore...SO if it is a party night you can night stay for Wishes without a party ticket.IF it is a non party night they SHOULD have regular wishes. All is subject to change at anytime

I'm doing tentative touring plans based on last year's (2008) hours.

On nights of MVMCP, it looks like MK closed at 7PM and had no Spectromagic parade. Wishes was at 9:30 PM.

On non-MVMCP nights, MK closed at 8PM and wishes was at 8PM. Spectro was at 7PM.

We are skipping MVMCP as the budget isn't there for 7 of us. We'll just work around MVMCP and have a great time anyway. We may plan to take advantage of an EMH night at MK.

Here is a link to Dec 2008 hours http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dec08.cfm?

Just to be clear, the Wishes shown at 9:30 during the party was Christmas Wishes.

If you are not doing the party- you'll have to leave the park by 7 pm. There are no fireworks that early at MK- and they show a different fireworks show for the holiday parties.
If you want to catch Wishes, you'll have to pick a non-party night.
Just schedule a different park for the days that MK has MVMCP.
You'll still have plenty of opportunities- it will just require more planning on your part.

Not as of last year. As PPs have noted, on party nights, there will only be the special Wishes shown during the party.

We generally just schedule our park days so that we can be at MK on non-party nights. And FYI - if you want to see the special Wishes show without attending the party, you can do so at GF, Poly or the beach at FW. Not quite the same as being in the park, but they pipe in the music and the view is still pretty good. :thumbsup2

And yes, MK does close to everyone without MVMCP tix at 7 on party nights. But that time of year MK isn't generally open very late anyway, except on weekends. Last year during the first 3 weeks of December, MK closed at 8 during the week on non-party nights.

As a previous poster said, the Magic Kingdom is usually only open until 8pm during Value Season anyways, so you would really only be losing a hour.
I would suggest simply planning on the Magic Kingdom for a non-party night.

Thanks to all posters who answered the question. I am all new to this so I have no idea on how to respond to all poster and to include each of your message in my reply. I could only figure out how to do it for each post. Nevertheless, I figured we would need to plan a different park for the MVMCP nights. Just wanted to double and triple check with the most trusted resource around! :rotfl:

Thank you.:flower3:

I have bought MVMCP tickets a few year ago, but for the life of me I cannot seem to find where to buy them this year??!
HELP!

OT:

Karenwwu, noticed your location, I'm in Bristol, so you can't be far, its always nice to see another local Dis'ser in the area.

BTW book wharehouse at Exit 7 in Bristol has Frommers 2008 Guide to WDW for cheap (I'm thinking it was $7 or less) if your addicted to guidebooks like me!

You can either call Disney at their main phone number or you can buy them online or you can wait till you are down there.

I never tried to buy MVMCP tix on my own - my TA got them for me each time, so I don't know either...hmmm...anyone?

Your link didn't work, but I got it from the next poster THANKS!:santa:

Oops! I see what I did wrong - I had http:// in there twice. It's fixed now. It's actually a link to info about the party, but then there's a link to the ticket purchase site there.

Thanks for the advice. We live in Roanoke, but my husband is from Abingdon. His parents still live there, have a beef farm near Green Spring if you have any idea where that is...it's on the way to the lake. As for guidebooks, I've been taking some lunch hours here and there and going to Barnes and Noble to read PassPorters and the UG. I'll check out the Frommers guide too! Maybe I'll have the inlaws pick me up a copy next time they are at Exit 7!
