For those who have been, what is it like? How does it work? Would you take your teenagers there? Worth the price?

We'd be going the first weekend of Dec.

It really depends on what you want to see. There are some characters there that you wont see any other time of year and ride lines can be shorter. These are not the reasons we go though. We love, love, love the parade and fireworks. Nothing beats seeing santa on main street and watching the snow fall while you are munching on cookies and drinking hot chocolate. the atmosphere is what makes it worth it for us. All the rest is just a bonus. Christmas is my favorite time of year and for me main street during the MVMCP is the best place for christmas atmosphere. That being said you can see all of this after the last party date for free but the crowds will be huge! In my mind its very worth it but others will feel differently im sure :)

This is a very loaded personal question but I know it was one I even asked before going. MVMCP offers many things that aren't available during regular park hours (additional characters, snow on Main St, less crowds, holiday themed parade, free cookies and drinks, etc.) but whether that is worth it or not is really up to you. We went the beginning of December two years ago and honestly I was shocked at how high the crowd levels were. We did not get to meet as many characters as we had hoped but the ride lines were very small. We also didn't get a great spot for the parade but made due and still enjoyed it. We did enjoy the party even though it wasn't what I thought it'd be. I would recommend going once just to see and experience it but from that, I don't think it's a must do every time.

It can be, but IMO it all depends on how long your trip nis, how many park days you're planning, what you want to get out of it, what you're expectations are, how much work you put into it ahead of time making sure you have an itinerary and how well you stick to that itinerary.

I went to my first MVMCP last year and will probably never go again. While I think it's great to at least do once, the MNSSHP is much better - of course this is just personal preference. The parade and fireworks during MVMCP are lovely and of course its beautiful that they make it snow on Main Street - but I don't need to see it again. If your group is down for meeting characters that you don't regularly see, then I would say yes attend a party. The party is also an overall nice experience, so in that respect I would say yes as well. Everyone will have a good time, just make sure someone in your group is saving a spot for the parade well in advance of parade start time.

We really enjoyed it when we went 2 years ago but we went mainly for the parade and the rides.
We arrived at 4pm and it was a madhouse. Lines were crazy so we ducked into a place to grab a quick bite to eat. When we came out the lines were better so we started riding a few rides. Once the party was in full swing it was a lot of fun. we didn't even attempt to meet any characters as those lines were really bad. We enjoyed the festive atmosphere, the Christmas musc and the parade and fireworks as well as the short ride times. Cookies and hot cocoa were not great.

Overall I am glad we did it!

If you have never been over the holidays, then I would definitely do it. The fireworks and parade are great, which are only shown during the party before the week of Christmas. I really like the holiday version of Wishes. That's just my opinion, but if you have never seen the parade or fireworks in person, then I would go.

If you've never been to MVMCP then I would recommend it. It is a bit on the $$ side, but you can get into the park around 4:00 that day on your MVMCP tix, and start your party off early. Usually we would get early dinner ressies at one of the MK restaurants and then we would be done with dinner around say 6'ish. That gives us 6 hours in the park, most of which would be without the long lines. Not sure if your older kids would want to view the parade, but there will be two parades and of course the special holiday edition of Wishes. That and just the holiday feeling all around really gets you into the spirit of the season. Just be aware that FP+ is not available for attractions during the party.
