Hello,
we attended the party yesterday and had a good time. DD did surprisingly well considering we only got her to nap 1 hour (she outgrew naps a loooong time ago)
She spent ALL DAY saying she wanted to meet prince Phillip and charming at Toontown. Sooooo, we line up at 6h50pm to make sure we get in first. She walks in the room...and starts crying, hiding behind my legs. Now, these two boys are just a-do-ra-ble...this reaction from a kid who will leap into Beast's arms and tackle-hug Aladdin given the chance. The guys were so good, though, stepping aside while DD saw the princesses, and we took pictures, with mommy holding DD to one side and the prince to the other side!!! DH was thrilled his little girl doesn't like boys yet!
We then went to see Jasmine and Aladdin, & had the unfortunate luck of being next in line when J&A were switching off with Genie. Picture a heartbroken 3 year-old whose heroes walk away after she has patiently waited to see them. Now, she wanted nothing to do with Genie. It was past 10h30, and since the Carpets are still being fixed, dark & quiet there. So Genie, DH, DD and I are basically the only ones there. Genie snaps pics with DH and I, starts shopping around looking for clothes at the store there, and DD totally warmed up to him, picking out clothes that Genie held in front of him. The lady at the store gave DD a Tink pin bcause she was so patient.
When Aladdin and Jasmine came back out, DD ran into their arms, and Jasmine said thank you to her for waiting. Aladdin gave her a fake little jewelry rock they sell at the store and DD is still clutching it. So it wasn't as we planned, and we didn't win anything fancy, but we did get some magic last night, and I am forever grateful to Disney for helping us teach our daughter that sometimes life disappoints you, but usually good behavior is rewarded!
