My DD's (16, 13 and 7) and I will be at WDW Dec 17-24. We have been many times, but never for Christmas. We have 2 choices on MVMCP the 18th and the 20th. I can't decide if we should spend the extra money for the night time party. It seems that the shows/parades that are offered during the MVMCP are also offered to regular guests during the day. What would we be missing if we decided not to do MVMCP?

If we do go, which night would be better?

Thanks,
Tammy

Actually, that's not true. The Christmas parade, snow on Main Street, free photo, special Wishes fireworks, and Christmas shows are not offered during the day until after the last MVMCP (except the free photo and snow of course; they're only available at the party). So, if you are there after the 20th then you might be able to catch the parade and shows during the day, if not, then you'll miss them.

I think it's VERY worth it and I'm doing my 4th one this November!

Yes I also think that it is worth doing. My kids 16, 15, and 11 are looking forward to the snow and hot chocolate.

Just about attractions or a show or two it's not worth the the extra dollars. After attending at least once a year since 1992 and most years twice. We attend more for that holiday magic that flows during MVMCP.It's a joy we feel being around so many people having a joyful experience with us.It's a evening filled with smiles and a wonderful holiday spirit that is a wonderful experince.Mix that with great holiday shows a parade, snow on Main Street, free family photo and many dressed in wonderful holiday outfits. So I say if you are looking for a one of a kind magical holiday experience at WDW it's worth it.We are going to MVMCP on 6th and 8th this year. :goodvibes :wizard: :earsboy:

I have never been to MVMCP, so you're probably wondering why I'm replying.

Last year I had a "girls' trip" to WDW with my mom and sister and we were toying around with the idea of going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party. After all, here were 3 adults...what's the point in spending the extra money for a Halloween party? I have been to WDW several times, but never went on a special event like this one. In the end we decided to go (and dress up in costumes).

I cannot tell you how much fun the three of us had! To see WDW all decked out for Halloween for the first time, to dress up in costume, to experience the VERY cool parade, to enjoy the entire ambience...was fabulous. I was so glad we did it, had so much fun, that I am returning to MNSSHP with my husband this year.

My advice: go for it! Try it out and see how much you and your family enjoy the experience. You may not like it, but you also may enjoy it so much you arrange future trips around MVMCP just to experience it again.

Have fun deciding! :wave2:

Went to MVMCP in 2003 and my family put in on the list for our return trip this year. The best part was being in Tomorrow land at the start of the party and riding Space Mountain 3 times in a row with no lines!! Made our MK day trip much easier/ less stressful. We probably appreciated our MK day more because we were able to ride the headline attractions during the party. The parade was also spectacular, and the fireworks are extra special- they have perimeter fireworks over the whole lagoon. Awesome!!
We went to the first party, Sunday night Thanksgiving weekend. Found the crowds very managable. This year we are going on Tuesday.
