We are going in December and want to go to the VMCP---when can I buy them? Do I do it online or call Disney? Is there a "best day" to go? We will be there Dec. 4-11. Thanks!

There is a release date but I don't know when it is. You could do a search to see when it was last year. I know it's too early now to buy.....I'm sure someone will jump in with last years date.

Tickets last year went on sale in early May...

We went on Tuesday, Dec. 1st, and, as it became closer to the date, it appeared that earlier in the week was better than later. Tickets are discounted/priced at a premium closer to the dates, depending sales. I think that Sunday, Nov. 29th was discounted for that reason, and I later heard that Thursday's party was pretty crowded.

I am no expert, but I bought our tickets right when they went on sale. Check the Theme Parks board and/or do a search on that board.

Official Party dates should be released anytime in the next several weeks...Tickets DO not go onsale till May 1st ( usually).Initially you will need to call.Online availibility happens about a week or so later.

Agree that you should buy as soon as the tickets are available. In terms of when to go. We have always opted to go on a weeknight. Not that there is less people on weeknights, it's just our preference to not go on a weekend night. You are going at a good time when most kids are still in school. We were at WDW last year from Nov 30 - Dec 11. We went to the party on a Tuesday, Dec 8 and was able to get on all the rides with no more than a 20 minute wait.

My completely unscientific theory is that while there won't be less tourists on weeknights, there would be more locals on weekends. We've always gone to hard tickets on early week nights (usually Tuesdays).
