MVMCP ticket query

Hi everyone, I travelled from New Zealand to WDW last year, my family all loved it so much that we are saving up to go back in November 2020.

I have a question about the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. If we have a 10 day park pass but don’t want to use one of those days for the Christmas Party, is that easy to manage? My understanding is that we can show up to the party from about 4pm. I’m worried that if we scan our magic band at any time after we arrive, then it may register as a day at the park even if we don’t want it to!
Does that query make sense? Has anyone had experience with doing this?

There will be clearly marked tapstiles for those using party tickets to enter the MK. As long as you enter through one of these and not a regular tap point it will use your party tickets.
