I have a baby who will be 11 months old for our upcoming disney trip.
We are only doing 4 days so tickets are still going to be about $100/ a day anyways.

On the first day, we have a flight that lands at 12:40p if there are no delays.
We are using magical express and buses while staying at the AoA.

On her very first day , I want to take her to MK and it is a party day. She falls asleep/ gets tired really early (7pm EST bedtime) so I know i have to have low expectations going with her and can not "do it all"

Should i buy a park ticket for that day or should i just buy a party ticket knowing that we would only stay till 7-8pm latest? We would not even stay for parades/ character meets.

I would just be upset if our flight gets delayed and i end up getting to the park with her at 4pm anyways only to have a 6pm closing.
On the other hand, what if our flight is on time and everything is smooth and I can get to the park at 3?

It is just a matter of having an hour before/after . I want to buy my tickets before the 60 day mark to make fast passes and i know if i buy a 3 day , i can't change it to a 4 day until i get there.

3 days tickets + MVMCP = $426
4 day tickets= $404

What would you do?

Thanks!

That is a tough one. I never plan paid events on a travel day because there is way too much that can go wrong.

Personally, if you can only spend a few hours in the park that first day before the baby gets tires I would not purchase them that day. I would plan a character meal for dinner, and then relax at the resort.

Honestly I wouldn’t do either. With an afternoon flight and an infant, the travel day will be long and exhausting. Not to mention the factors that can go wrong and make you later. You’ll either miss most of the party or have very little time in the park. I would probably play it by ear and maybe add the extra day on the fly, if you’re feeling up to it.

Agree with the above, skip the parks entirely the first day and enjoy the resort!

I would much prefer waking into the MK the next morning with everyone refreshed and happy vs stressing all day while traveling and rushing to get to the park or the worry that you won't get your $ worth from a party ticket.

Personally I would plan on enjoying the resort on your arrival day.

Traveling during Nov or Dec (not sure which month you are going) there is an increased chance of delays due to snow and ice conditions. Even if your flight lands on time you are easily looking at 2 hours to get to the resort plus travel time to get to the park so It is going to be 3 PM at the earliest before you get in the gates. I would plan for arrival day to be a resort day.
That said I do have the option myself to use an airline that the flights are overnight red eyes using a west coast hub that land prior to 8 am. We would be able to be at the parks by mid morning. Even then I would not consider a park day on arrival day with a child that young. Truthfully with my kids being 10 and 13 currently I am barely starting to consider this as an option. My kids are used to 10-14.5 hour days participating in livestock shows and fairs for the past 5 years. When we first started we would leave the younger one home with dad, use shorter days with one parent bringing the younger one later, and even arranging for grandma to watch the youngest who was not in shows those early years. On the few days that we have our 10 year old at the larger shows we make use of having a great relationship with the ladies who drive the gators to transport us and our supplies in our parking area to the doors of the buildings we need to be in. They will take many a fussy preschooler and even grade school age kid for a few loops around the lot just to get them away from the constant stimulation.

I'm with the others. I would do neither. That's $100 for 3 hours, tops, in a park after traveling all day with an infant (not to mention having to travel back and forth from AoA for those 3 hours). I would just relax at the resort and enjoy everything AoA has to offer.

I agree with the pp and I would not try for a park. Bring her to Disney Springs or a character meal if you want to do more than just the resort.
