Thinking of planning a trip next year and thinking of doing the party on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Anyone out there that attended this year and can give me the scoop on crowds? Or are all the parties just busy these days?

We were there the Sunday after Thanksgiving. First party and probably our last. Don't get me wrong..Main st. was amazing with the snow, and parade was awesome, but it was way to crowded!! Had to get a spot by Hall of Pres one hour before the last parade started. Not what I imagined for how much we spent for the 9 of us to go! they sell way too many tickets!!

We didn't find it too bad. It was crowded, yes but no more than the other Christmas parties we've attended. I do still rather the parties right before Thanksgiving week as opposed to this one but those may be getting more crowded as well. We sat in the fastpass area for Holiday fireworks and Celebrate the Magic. All of the people around us stayed sitting so it was nice to relax and enjoy it. Then we went to Country Bear Jamboree and sat on the porch to wait for the second parade while enjoying cookies and hot chocolate. We don't really go for the characters though so I don't know how bad those lines were.

Did you just sit in that area, or were you actually able to get a fastpass? I thought they didn't have fastpasses available during the actual party, but did you have them?

Nope, we didn't have fastpasses as they don't give them out during the christmas party but the area was wide open and available to sit in. We sat in the one by Crystal Palace because that is our favorite spot. I know that some people will argue about how far away it is and that it's not centered with the castle but we find that the ability to relax and not be packed like sardines as well as having our kids be able to see the whole show is totally worth it for us.

We went that day this year. It wasn't sold out but there were quite a few people. By choice we watched the parade in Liberty square and waited about 1/2 hour with people sitting in front of us. By choice we watched fireworks at tables and chairs in tomorrow land near the speedway. We didn't care about he angle of view and loved it. We walked onto rides. We saw Sandy Claus at 5 when he came out and didn't look for other characters. We saw a rain deer and elf with only a couple people in line. No waits for cookies (kind of yucky) and hot chocolate (yummy). My daughter loved the Phineous and Ferb dance party which wasn't crowded. Crowds felt similar to other parties we attended (Halloween). We had a nice time and by choice stayed out of crowded areas.

I didn't attend the MVMCP on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, but I was at MK during the day on that Sunday, and the crowd level was the best I'd experienced in a few years. I was leaving at 4pm, and the MVMCP crowd was flocking into the park.

We went and it was the first time I had been in any park in 20 years. Was it crowded? I thought so until we went back to the parks the following days. Party was definitely less crowded than a standard day based on the week (and the week wasn't crowded). We were able to get right up front before the castle show and Frozen Holiday Wish lighting thing (the second one). We were second row at the bend to the roundabout for the parade right before it started. A nice young couple let our kids wiggle up to the front - we stood back. First fireworks were crowded but not crazy. We stood on the Fantasyland side of the hub so we could dash to meet Merida right afterward.

We got there right at 4 and were able to complete the following:
7DMT
Laugh Floor
Ariel
Pooh
Dumbo
Tea Cups
Philharmagic
Dinner at CHH
Holiday Castle Show
Frozen Castle Lighting
Fireworks
Merida
Cocoa and cookies (twice)

Basically, as a newbie, it felt as if we did about half the park with only one meet and greet (we were saving them for later in the week). It was the first night of our week-long stay. It was a great way to get into the spirit of not only being at Disney but the holidays as well. We were out of there after Merida and back at POR by 1045.
