MVMCP~ Sun 11/28 vs. Tues 11/30

We've never been to MVMCP and I am still debating buying tickets for our family of 7 (big $$$). We are PAP holders and have been to WDW several times in the past year, so rides aren't all that important, but I'd kind of like to see the shows and parade.

*IF* we go, and tickets are still available, do you think there would be a big difference in the crowd level between Sun 11/28 (last day of Turkey weekend) and Tues. 11/30? Sunday works a little better for our schedule, but if Tues. would be alot less crowded, we'd want to go then.

What do you all think?

I went last year on Sun 11/30 (which was the first MVMCP) and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was festive and I highly recommend it. My DH and I arrived around 5:30 pm and felt like we had the place to ourselves until 7. At one point, we were walking through Fantasyland and couldn't see anyone. It did get busy but never "packed." Watching the snow fall on Main street, the parade, and Wishes made me feel like it was worth the money. We enjoyed it so much that we tried getting tickets to go again later in the week but it was sold out.

Hey momtotwinglesx4 and lives4disney, it's going to be Illinois week!!

We are going the week of 11/28 and to MVMCP on the 30th. We picked the 30th for the party just in case the 28th still had Thanksgiving crowds and my research said Tuesdays are the best night to go. It's our 1st time for MVMCP and we are so excited!

WE are about 1 1/2 hours SE of Galena and not sure about the distance from Crystal Lake.

We are another Illinois family going that week. We are arriving 11/29 but have decided to wait until the Thurs 12/2 MVMCP. Still haven't bought the tix yet, would Tues be better than Thurs? We definitely would rather the less crowded day since we are flexible.

Sydnoahmom - it is a small world! Crystal Lake is about 3 hours east of Galena. It is about 1 hour + NW of Chicago. Hope you have a great visit! I am looking forward to our first time seeing the Xmas decorations.

I am nervous about the crowds!! I knew it would be crowded for Thanksgiving, but when I saw the Midnight MK closing time - I KNOW it will be crowded. We were there for vacation toward the end of August and thought that was crowded!! People have been writing that that is a decent time to go. Don't really know what to expect this time! I sure hope they do limit the MVMCP tickets sold!!! I bet the 30th would be a better day than the 28th, but due to our JR Higher we couldn't have him out of school for too many days.

Is this an IL thread?? You guys have to get to one of the many Chicago DIS meets we have, keep an eye out on the Community and Meet boards. Hope to see you at one. We will probably have our next one in Jan or Feb.

I will be going to the MVMCP on the 30th. Tues and Thurs are typically less crowded than the weekends. Any day though is great, so much fun.

BTW, we love the Galena area, visit it often.
