We are an adult only group so no problems seeing the second parade and staying until the bitter end... but we wanted a sit-down dinner in the park and the only time/place I could get is Crystal Palace at 7:25 PM... my question is, say we are inside the CP until around 8:15 or 8:30... will we be "trapped" when we go outside by the crowds for the first parade? What's our best strategy then for getting a good spot for Wishes and the second parade?

1. will we be "trapped" when we go outside by the crowds for the first parade?

2. What's our best strategy then for getting a good spot for Wishes and the second parade?

1. To not be "trapped:"
Exit CP.
Turn hard LEFT.
Head into Frontierland.

2. If you want to see Wishes, however, turn right and move into a spot in the Hub...
in the middle of the MASSES.

Second parade will be easy.
It's seeing Wishes (from the optimal front angle) that will be the issue.
Don't forget "Celebrate the Magic" (Celebrate the Season) begins 15 min. before
Wishes.

YES! WE definitely want to see WISHES - we will be there this coming Tuesday, Nov. 17th!

So... when we leave CP we will just go out to the Main Street / Castle hub - what time would be best to do that? Wishes is at 9:30.

There is no "best time," because if you enter CP at 7:25, you won't be out of there until (as you mentioned) about 8:30.
That's 45 min. before "Celebrate the Season" (Castle projection show) and the first parade will be "at" the Hub right then.

I would seriously consider canceling the sit-down dinner. Seriously.

Hmmm I hear you. I don't think that's going to fly with the party though. So if we come out of CP at 8:30 and just wait until the parade goes by and then grab a spot at the hub, I think we'll be okay to watch WISHES and then wait for the second parade? it is a lot of just standing around.. sigh...

I'm surprised Crystal Palace is even open. When we went a few years ago it was just a cookie/cocoa station.

Another vote for "cancel the ADR". You already paid a lot for your time in the park. Paying extra to sit in a restaurant makes for one expensive dinner.

We always did a nice meal early on party nights, before the party started. I'd stalk the app and watch for a cancellation. Since ADRs are CC guaranteed, people do cancel, especially in the last 2 days.

CP is open, and it wasn't easy to get the ADR... hmmm... I definitey hear y'all on the maybe not so desirable sit-down dinner during the party... but... we are a party of just adults, some of whom have mobility issues. We are planning to enter the park around 4 PM so we'll definitely be hungry by 7:30 and waiting in line at a fast food place really doesn't appeal. We're not cookies and hot chocolate people... and the food at CP is usually good, and there's the fun of Tigger coming to the table, and well... it just seems like a good sit-down break in the middle of the party to me? Does anyone see the wisdom in this? I think I'll take momtrk's advice and try for an earlier one though.. that definitely makes sense. We have lunch at GF Cafe at 2 PM, but I can always cancel that and go for an early dinner in MK.

Ultimately you have to do what's right for your group. What you get here is general advice, from people who don't know you or your family. :) I wouldn't do it, but if it works for you, definitely go for it. I ignore advice here myself sometimes because I know what's important to us.

I hope you find an earlier time though so you have as much time as possible to find a good spot for the fireworks.
