I still can't decide if it will be worth spending the extra $200 for the MVMCP. Will I be kicking myself when we come home? I want to hear from those who have done the parade and if you thought the cost was well justified or not.

We have been to 4 MVMCP and enjoyed them, but last year's seemed stale. The fact that it was a non-discounted one, and so about $100 for the two of us, made me think about skipping this year.

Now, they've announced a new parade, we are there for a discounted night, and I changed my mind, and I've bought tickets.

One thing that soured me last year, was that I was so disappointed with the show Night before Christmas. We had never gone to a show before, and decided to do one. It just seemed so ordinary. This year, I'll pass on shows and just do the things that we enjoyed so much the previous years. Parade, fireworks, rides, and whatever character experiences we can find while munching on cookies and hot chocolate.

I have tickets for a discounted night in Dec, we are taking my parents to SSR and I know they will enjoy the party. The parade is always so beautiful as are the fireworks and we really enjoy the smaller crowds, its fun to do Buzz as many times as we want without the long lines:thumbsup2
And the castle is going to be lit up this year but I don't think its exclusive to party nights. Can't wait to see it though.

I think you will kick yourself if you don't. We go every year and love it. I was disappointed last year to see the 360 degree fireworks reduced to 120 degrees though.

Depending on which regular admission tickets you purchase, you may be able to delete a day and save a few bucks that way. Usually you can enter the Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 with only your party ticket. If you schedule an afternoon pool day, than you don't need any other ticket. Of course with the new ticket structure the savings may be minimal, and if you have APs that idea is a total bust.

Good luck! :smokin:

It's only money. Spend it and have fun.

If you don't enjoy the night, then you will have some good stories to tell. If you have a blast, you will still have some good stories to tell.

We have done the parade a few times and had a blast.

It does make for some really nice memories! :)

I have only been to the parade once, but I loved it! It may have changed since I went....still...I can't wait to go again. I think the parade alone is worth the extra ticket.

My vote is, everyone who can should go at least once. I really liked the parade, and when I went they were giving photos of your group. I don't think they are doing that anymore though.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I will be kicking myself if we don't go. Oh, I hate decision making. The kids would love it. I still need to think more and I'm running out of time quickly.

Being crazed disney fans that my whole family is, we went last year. We were very disappointed in the cost vs. what you received. My children are 6 and 11 and they were very excited in attending the party until we got there and it seemed just like another extended hours night. The only difference is that they have a couple of holiday shows and a parade. The cookies and hot chocolate are very plain and watered down. I know going forward we won't waste our money on this event.

We also haven't decided yet.

We went to the Party last year for the first time and it was OK. The fireworks were the best part for us.

My advice...go to the old "MGM" and check out the Osborne light festival. It is free and amazing. I believe far better than main street at WDW. The lights will blow you away! The only thing you dont get there is a parade.

I dont regret going to the party but I dont know that I would do it again.

One bit of advice....if you do go to the party take it easy that day. We found that by 11:00 our kids were falling asleep while waiting for the second parade (and they are 11,9,7).

Second bit of advice...enter the park during regular hours to avoid the rush of people going in and heading out of the park near regular closing hours.

Go just to see the snow on Mainstreet for the parade. "Snow" in warm Florida is a freaky sight for us from the north. They do a pretty good job of coming up with flurries.

Everything is beautiful and the lines are short (for the most part.) The shows may be korny but they get me in the holiday spirit.

Also, there is merchandise that can only be bought at MVMCP. We've gotten some great ears/shirts/etc.

We're going to MVMCP Dec 6th and then not starting an annual pass until Dec 7th. That works great because we can use the pass for March and April trips and then be there next year for Dec 3-7 on the same annual pass.

It's been a while, but I remember the "snow" and the gingerbread men that smelled like gingerbread. The hot chocolate may not great, but it's pretty neat having hot chocolate and cookies passed out while watching a Christmas parade IN WDW!! It's a wonderful mood setter.

We've been to MVMCP 3 times and wouldn't do it again. But if I'd never tried it I would definately go.

The best part of the party is the fireworks and short lines. The parade is only OK to me. I much prefer Disneyland's X-mas parade and it's free to watch.

We will be at WDW this year during MVMCP and I asked my kids if they wanted to go. My son said no because it wasn't much fun and my daughter said yes, because she liked the free hot chocolate and cookies. I told her I would buy her hot chocolate and cookies at our hotel, so she changed her mind and said no.

Our family likes MNSSHP much better and we find MVMCP a little boring if you're not going to ride rides.
