We got there at 5:30 last year and they let us in then with just the party ticket. We were hearded straight to Tomorrowland and we went right into Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas Show. They had it showing at 6:15 PM (even though the party officially starts at 7PM). We had a later lunch that day. After the show we headed over to Frontierland to get seats for the parade. DH ran and got us hot dogs and fries at Pecos Bill's. Eating while we were waiting for the parade helped keep my then 2 year old DS happy.

We decided to do two mvmcp instead of just one with ps. We don't eat enough for all you can eat and we figured we can see the characters around the park.
Now I know to plan late lunches!

Is there anything besides the hot cocoa and cookes, snow on main street, a couple parades, and family photo that is unique to only the MVMCP? Any shows you can't see any other time?

I think the Castle show, Celebrate the Season is only during MVMCP.
Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas was shown only one day during the week that we were there.
The other shows:
Goofy's Country Dancing Jamboree Celebrates the Holidays Show
Belle's Enchanted Christmas Storytelling
Snowflake Special Storytelling
I believe these are all unique to the MVMCP. These are the shows they had at last years party.
There is also a special Christmas Country Bear show, but that is available during regular hours.
