We (2 40ishers, no kids but kids at heart) will be in Orlando 12/19 - 12/23 so our time is limited. We also haven't been to any of the parks in a very long time. We plan on spending a day or two @ USF/IOA. With this in mind.....

The MVMCP's last evening is 12/19 and I have a couple of opinion questions:

What makes it worth going to?
Is it all that different from just spending a day at MK? How?
Is it more/less crowded than a typical day at the park?
Would we want to spend a day at MK even if we went to MVMCP?

I realize a lot depends on personal tastes but any opinions would be helpful, thanks :)

Since it is last one and on a Friday night I think it will be a sold out MVMCP soon .I think what makes it worth going is Chrisimas Parade, snow on Main Street, free family photo the live shows, special fireworks and the MK all lit up with Christmas lights.Plus a special holiday spirit seems to fill the park and I enjoy that feeling. It can seem crowded though rumor has it 20,000 tickets is max number of tickets they sell for each MVMCP.All attractions are not open for MVMCP so lines can form from time to time at some attractions. So if you might want to spend a day at MK also if you are interested in the attractions that are a different experience during day vs at night.Like Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain that have different feeling to me riding at night vs day.If it sounds like something you want to try and you have more questions feel free to ask them or PM me and I will do my best to answer.:wave2:

I think whether or not you decide to go to the MVMCP could depend a lot on what you're looking to get out of it. Many people go because they want to do the rides at night during a "limited ticket" event. But on a Friday night, the chances are that it will be sold out, and therefore pretty crowded.

However, if you're like me, there's something very magical about just being in the MK at night. Throw in the fact that there are special parades, shows and it snows on main street, and that right there is worth the price of admission. I love wandering through the parks at night. The time of year I go (the week following Thanksgiving) the parks generally close earlier, so I always jump at any opportunity for a nighttime visit. That's why I'm going to the MVMCP on the Tuesday of my visit.

Personally, as you're going to be there for such a limited time, it seems almost as if it would be worth it just to get a little extra time in the parks. But you're completely right in saying that there are a whole lot of personal variables involved!

After all is said and done the bottom line is we'll get to spend 5 hours after dark, in Magic Kingdom, with 20,000 of our closet friends ;)
