MVMCP Question?

We are going the week of Thanksgiving and were shocked to find out there were no MVMCP nights scheduled that week. Does anyone know why? They start the party on Nov. 8th but take this week off. Do they still keep the Christmas lights on in the Magic Kingdom this week? Thanks for any info.

Thanksgiving week is very busy - some say it's the third busiest time of the year (after Christmas - New Year's and the Easter weeks). Disney keeps the parks open later as a result.

The MNSSHP & MVMCP events were started as a way to attract more people during slower times of the year. I don't recall that there have ever been parties scheduled that week and I've been going to these events off and on since 1998.

You should be able to catch the Osborne Lights at DHS and I'm sure that the MK will be decorated, too. The CP and EPCOT WS Holiday activities don't start until after Thanksgiving. Not sure about the resorts, but IIRC, they will also be decorated before you leave.

MVMCP is used as a way to get people to come to WDW. The holiday weeks are sell outs so no additional events needed. The "special" hard ticket events are being scheduled earlier and earlier to get people to come during the less popular times. If the decorations are up Nov 8, they will be up through Christmas in the MK.

They haven't had Christmas parties during Thanksgiving week for as long as we have been going in the late 90's.

I was disappointed too. This is our first party, and I booked BLT for the week before our cruise

So now we're at BLT with the more expensive points week instead of the cheaper points post cruise and now I don't have rooms for the week after . We bought tickets for 12/5, but I'm not sure where we're staying yet.
