I got my tickets for MVMCP today and couldn't wait to open them. Didn't they used to have christmas themed pics on them??? What happened? I was so disappointed!! Anyone else look forward to just the pic?!

I've never been to MVMCP before, but I did expect the tickets to be Christmas oriented. I was a bit disappointed to get just the regular Happiest Celebration tickets.

I honestly can not remember what the old one had on them but yes I was expecting something more holiday like less advertisment like... :confused3

Nope.

The material that the tickets are made out of are VERY expensive. Plus as tickets are sold, they are printed in bulk batches in the order that the tickets come in. The ticket before and after your MNSSHP or MVMCP ticket are probably normal park tickets.

It would be way to expensive for Disney to have special images on them just for certain short events. It would also be very wasteful, as after the events are over, Disney would have to destroy any remaining ticket stock after the event.

So no, they are your normal ticket stock. :)

We got our tickets this past Saturday. I looked forward to the getting the MVMCP tickets for this year! We have not been since year before last, but I thought I remembered them being different than regular tickets. I thought the pictures on the tickets were Christmas themed the last time we went. Am I just dreaming this?

No.

I've been going since 2000 and they have never been a Christmas themed ticket.

Until this year, our tickets always had a different character on them. This year they are the Happiest Celebration on earth themes.

We have been to the party in past years, and when our tickets came for this year, I too remarked about a Christmas theme, and DW reminded me that our tickets have always had characters on them, and this year its the Celebration theme. Love the party

Do you require a regular ticket to get into MVMCP? We went about 3 or 4 years ago and I don't remember if we needed to use one of our days. I do remember that we did go to MK that day and had to leave around 5 or so and then we were allowed back in around 6 and we went thru the gate again and were given a wrist band.

Is your MVMCP ticket the only one you need to get in for the party?

TIA

You do not need to use up a regular day. In fact, we only go to the party that day so as to not use one of our regular days. Also, we make early dinner reservations, pre party, and they let you in to do that. Actually, even when we don't have dinner ressies, we get in by 4 or so.

My mom, who saves everything, has a MVMCP ticket from 2002 and it has Minnie all dressed up for Christmas. So I know now for sure it used to be done.

I thought they were my park tickets! :) I'm glad I read the confirm letter!!

That's good to know. We'll plan on hitting a different park that day. We usually only spend 1/2 day at MGM so we might go to that one, leave at lunch, then head over to MK early. We did have dinner reservations the last time we went but I didn't find the selection very good. What would be available now? Are all the restaurants open? They weren't back then. We ate at the Horsehoe Review place. That's when they had sandwiches and such so it was quite a while ago.

All I cared about was that the date was right and they all had adult on them.

DD will use them for scrapping anyhow she might add a sticket or two to them.

have Christmas themes on them before. Even the photo that you get when you go to the party would say Mickey's Very Merry Chirstmas Party and the year - last year it did not say that but simply had a HOLIDAYS at Disney or something like that (I can check my photo when I get home). I was very disappointed with the new phrase on the photo. Guess they are trying to be politically correct but really now, it is Christmas and they are having a Christmas party. They used to have many more Christmas decorations the nite of the party, as well as through all the parks and resorts. They too have been cut down. I am so happy that I was able to see them when they were all up, and the Nativity at Downtown Disney was just THE BEST, that too is gone. I just wish people would stopy trying to take Christmas out of everything. And anyone who is offended by the Christmas celebrations during the Christmas season should go at another time. Unfortunately some day in the not too distant future we may not even see Christmas celebrated at WDW any longer, although I do think that would create a huge backlash, at least I hope so. I love Disneyworld and can't stop thinking of it from one vacation to the next. Anyone who has not been to the Christmas Party before I'm sure will love it, I do and try to go more than once during my visit.
