MVMCP on travel night? Terrible idea?

We check in to AKL on 11.12 for 10 nights. We're going to stay in the LBV Sheraton the night before.

We'll be driving down with a 10 month old and a 6 year old. The plan is to leave at 4am so the kids will sleep a good bit of the 7 hour trip. DH is going to keep them up a little later the night before we leave while I go to bed early so I can do the driving.

If we get to the hotel around noon and play, eat lunch, and rest, would it be crazy to do MVMCP that night?

At the hotel by noon sounds very reasonable to me, seeing as how you'll pretty much be taking it easy that day. I would think you'll be fine. The night we go to MVMCP, we'll have been at Animal Kingdom all day trekking around.

So, as long as you rest up and reserve energy, I would think that plan would work fine. As long as the kids are in good moods. Even if they aren't, they will be when the party starts.

we went last yr and had a great time! we drive from nc everytime we go and usually go to downtown disney or do a character dinner at a resort. one yr we went to epcot for emh though and had fun but it was during value season so not a lot of people were there. Have fun!

Okay, given that, tell me what to pack in an overnight bag so we have everything we need without unpacking the car.

This for sure. I might would get a backpack and go over your checklist and put anything you might need in there. Kind of like a day hike sort of deal.

Sounds like the party on day 1 would work Ok as long as the next day you don't plan for rope drop somewhere. You may be tired if you stay until the end of the party.

For carry bag, pack a sweatshirt or jacket for everyone as it can be cooler at night. Other than that, maybe a few snacks and anything you may need for the kids. Have fun!

we are going to the mvmcp on the first day as well. I'm meeting my family there (they are driving down the day before; I'm flying in the morning of). I didn't see the point in wasting a day at one of the parks to go to the party since it's a separate ticket anyway. This way we can spend extra time at the MK
