MVMCP on first night??

Hi guys,

We're arriving in WDW on Dec. 6th for our very first visit!! Would it be a good idea or a bad idea to do the party on our first night?? We will be driving there, and are a family of 6 - kids are 12 to 19.

The Christmas Party is a great way to kick off your vacation.

It really depends on how tired you will be after the drive, if it is a really long drive you may want to do it another day.

The Christmas party is pretty pricey for a family of 6, you may want to skip it. We did the Christmas party last year, and will not do it again, it was very crowded and with all the other free Christmas stuff around, we just didn't feel it was worth the extra $$$.

The Osborne Lights are amazing you may want to see those instead your first night.

It depends how long you are driving...if the drive is not too long I think that will be a great way to start off the Disney trip. We are planning on going Dec 6th and Dec 8th party. Can't wait.

We always try to start our vaca with a party! The one time we didn't the party wasn't as fun for us because we were too tired later in the week to stay up so late. We won't do that again.

This year we are also driving and stop about an hour outside of WDW so we get in early the first day. Check in and then go to DTD before the party...well my mom and I do...my husband chills at the hotel with the kids then into the party at 4! Great way to start it all off.

Hard to offer advice because there's so many 'it depends'.

We've done MNSSHP the day we arrived. Coming from Colorado, we generally get on property about 6pm (taking an 10am flight). Since we didn't have to get up toooo early to catch the flight and had time for a quick nap before heading to the park, it worked well for DH and I.

If your drive isn't too long/tiring and your family won't be too worn out, I'd go for it. Do it especially if it's the only night available for the party for you.

We're planning to! If we were going to go to MVMCP, we had to go on our arrival night -- December 18 is the last night of the party. Our plane arrives at 10:15 a.m., and I figure we'll do a different park in the morning/early afternoon and then head over to MK. We have LTT reservations for 4 pm (DD request).
