OK, I finally got around to starting a Pre-Trip report for our upcoming trip in December. I will get into the dates we are going in another entry. I have been thinking about this trip since we got back from our first family trip the first week of January 2007. That trip was solely for the benefit of our then 4 year old. It was a great trip full of memories, and I was looking forward to the day we got to do it again when our 7 month old is 4. Well, she turned 4 this year, so this is the year we are going. We went the first week of January last time and loved the Christmas decorations, and definitely wanted to see them again,
Cast of characters.
Mike (Dad) –Age 39, Disney nut, and planner extraordinaire. I am the one who plans everything, and figures out all of the logistics. What parks, where and when to eat… I am the one who gets to read the unofficial tour guides, spend hours on the DISBoards, reading everything on AllEars.net, Disneyworld.disney.go.com, mousesavers… Wow, I sure do spend a lot of time dedicated to Disney. I think I need some professional help.
Diane (Mom) – (Shhhh, don't tell her I post her picture on the internet) Age 40, likes Disney, but isn’t obsessed like me. I try to get her involved, but she tells me “Just tell me when and where to go.” This can be a very dangerous thing since I like to spend money. When I am not sure if I should spend the money on something, I tell her and if she vetoes the idea then I forget about it. She is the one that keeps me grounded, otherwise I would be mortgaging the house to pay for the ultimate Disney trip.
Ally – My first Princess, was 4 when we went in 2007, and is now 8, loves Cinderella. This has been her favorite since she was a baby. She likes all of the Princesses so anything that we plan with Princesses and she is happy. Of course she also likes Mickey, Minnie, Pluto… well you get the idea. If they had a Hannah Montana dining experience she would be in heaven. She rode roller coaster at Sesame Place, and likes them. She is looking forward to riding the coasters with Dad come December.
Olivia – My second Princess was 7 months old on her first trip to Disney, so now that she is 4 this is her official first trip, that first one doesn’t count. Olivia has not settled on a particular princess yet. Originally loved Snow White, then moved onto Pocohontas, then Mulan, loved Tinkerbell for a while, now is into Shark Boy and Lava Girl. Who knows who she will like by the time we go in December. This makes it hard to plan a character dining experience for her, although she does like the normal cast of characters, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald.
Stay tuned, I have already created an outline for the future posts, but I will be happy to respond to any questions, assuming it isn't going to be covered in an upcoming scheduled post.
Edit: I saw on Mickey_Mom's PTR where she had links to the other entries, and thought it was a great idea so I stole it. Here are links to my other "official" entries.
