The night before our Disney Cruise will be the first MVMCP in the Magic Kingdom. We'll be in Orlando (staying on Disney property) for 2 days before, but we weren't planning on spending time in the parks because it's too expensive for a family of 4 to go for just a day or 2. But now I'm thinking maybe we should get tickets for the party, and go into the MK at 4pm? We would probably save about $150 doing rather then getting regular day passes. We would go mostly for the rides, and I think 8 hours is more than enough time, but I'm not sure how my kids will handle it? They will be 5 and 8. The tickets go on sale next month and so I need to make a decision, I know they sell out sometimes and this will be the first one of the season. Do you think it's worth it, or should we stick to our original plan of enjoying the resorts, swimming, DTD, etc?

Go. Your kids will love it, especially if you're going mostly for rides. Most are so busy with party-specific stuff that the ride lines stay short all night.

We did it in Nov for the MVMCP. they had a blast and we were all happy to get a little park time in before the cruise. Plus a party ticket is cheaper than a regular ticket!

And you can book 3 Fastpasses each to be used between 4:00-7:00. Combined with all the Christmas shows and parade, you can get a lot done. Don't plan a sit-down dinner during the party - you'll be getting more than enough food on the cruise! :)

I took my children on their 5th bday and they loved it, we stayed until the very end. We had a down day with just a late breakfast at Chef Mickey, the rest of the day at the hotel. It worked out perfectly for us. I think it would be a great way for you to be able to experience some park fun and not completely break the bank!!

I would do it! We went last year with DS7 and had so much fun! Yes, cheaper than buying a 1 day ticket and oh, so special!

I'd totally do it too, especially if it will be your only time in the parks. My DS2 loved the parade and the snow, plus we got plenty of rides in.
